To celebrate the 21st book in Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau series, The Immortal Who Loved Me, Avon asked if they could give away a 4.5 quart Kitchen Aid standing mixer here at the hot pink palace.
Like I would say no to anything that involved the remote possibility of baked goods, right?
Why baked goods? As Caro, the lovely publicists who came up with this buttery idea wrote to me, “Since the heroine, Sherry Carne, owns a kitchen goods store, I thought it’d be fun to give away a fancy KitchenAid stand mixer, because honestly, who doesn’t want one of those? It’s like the Cadillac of cookie equipment.” She’s not wrong – I have one, and I use it all the time. So let’s get to it, eh?
The grand prize is an Ultra Power® Series 4.5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer from KitchenAid, in the winner’s choice of color – and this thing comes in red, green, blue, pink, yellow, and something that looks a lot like Tiffany blue – it’s kind of amazing.
Ahoy, widget!
Standard disclaimers apply. This giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents only (I’m sorry). Void where prohibited. Must be over 18 and prepared to cream some butter to win. Euphemisms not included, except for the paddle attachment. But wait! There’s a second giveaway, too, for a second prize! In addition to a complete set of Sands’ Argeneau books – that’s a lot of books, too – the second prize also includes a set of two AirBake cookie sheets, size 14″x16″. (I have these cookie sheets and love them like madness.)
Standard disclaimers apply. This giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents only (I’m sorry again). Void where prohibited. Must be over 18 and prepared to bake like baking has never been baked before. Euphemisms absolutely included, in every possible way.
The giveaway will end at 12pm ET on Monday, 23 February. Winner will be announced 24 February 2015. Please email me with any questions or problems, ok? Good luck, and happy baked goods to everyone!

All the cookies! Then maybe a cheesecake, some macaroons ( is that considered a cookie?) and a pie. I’d have way to much fun baking.
I would bake white chocolate macadamia nut cookies! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.
Erin
A combination of my two favorite things! Books and baking!! So, the first thing I would bake would be double chocolate chunk cookies. With nuts!
I’m not the biggest baker but my hubby loves his desserts so I’d learn to whip up a delicious chocolate cake!
Chocolate cake. Obviously.
Lent starts tomorrow which means in roughly forty days I’ll be cooking from scratch homemade Polish Easter bread. This mixer would make it so much better! Yay for traditions!
I have my birthday coming up, which usually involves a Bailey’s Irish Cream cake. However, we’ll be in KY this year, so this may involve bourbon creme instead of Irish.
If I won I’d give this to my boyfriend, who would definitely use it to make waffles.
i love to bake- breads, cookies, etc. but if i won a mixer i would teach myself to make macarons (or try at least!)
Oh the baking possibilities. There is so much I’d like to make but couldn’t because I don’t have a mixer. If I have one, I’d like to make savory buns.
Cowgirl cookies would be made and they definitely would include toasted walnuts and pecans!
I think I’d start with bread and then move on to something involving whipped cream. My wrists would really enjoy that
I would make a cake first – I make a lot of cakes. We love to bake at our house!
I bake like mad and do ok with my hand blender. I would first make a key lime cheesecake!
I’d bake chocolate chip cookies if I won!
lovely mixer – nuts don’t belong as we have family members with tree nut and peanut allergies.
I would die if I won the stand mixer. But the first thing I’d make is a lemon velvet cake 😀 totally obsessed right now- I’ve never had one but it looks amazing.
If I won this, I would go out and buy the pasta attachment and make pasta. Just to make things different. And yes put nuts in cookies, anything can go in a cookie…
I’m sure you’re not surprised that whipped cream takes an incredibly long time to whip by hand….so naturally I’d be whipping some cream in that amazing mixer. Also, don’t try to whip cream in a magic bullet because it turns to butter in like 5 seconds.
The first thing I would make are cookies. I don’t know if they would be meringue cookies or chocolate chip cookies. my grandma’s pie crust recipe so I can make my version of her chocolate pecan pie (I use a dark chocolate instead of baker’s chocolate). Chocolate angel food cake, too…
Now I’m thinking of all the things I haven’t made since I no longer have a stand mixer. I now realize the things I once made all the time my kids have never helped me make.
If I won, the first thing I would bake would be chocolate chip cookies. They are my favorite dessert. And possibly my favorite food in general.
Chocolate chip cookies! My favorites.
Bread, since I wouldn’t have to do the kneading by hand!
Awsom giveaway
Cool giveaway combo!
I want to learn to make meringue! My grandmother used to make a rhubarb pie with meringue on top and I want to learn how to make that pie just like her!
Anything chocolate – cookies, cakes, pies!
I like to bake bread. I like getting my hands in the dough and I love the way it make the house smell.
Probably cookies or maybe bread.
Chocolate chip cookies can have walnuts, or not, either is good, and almond cookies can obviously have nuts, but otherwise… 🙂
please pick me
Biscuits!
I am a huge baker. I love to make cookies, cupcakes, puffs, everything. I would love to win this!
This is great I love it. I need one of these stat.
I have been trying to get one of these because of the arthritis in my hands arms and shoulders. I know that the first thing I would make is my family’s recipe for Jewish Coffee Cake. We are not Jewish people so it doesn’t make sense but my family loves it. The batter is just too stiff for my hands. And books are always a plus.
If I won, the first thing I would make would be some chocolate chip cookie dough for my hubby
There is a salted caramel cake I would love to try but there was a lot of mixing to it. Not sure my little mixer could take it.
I bake all the time. I have been wanting a KitecheAid for a long time. I collect cookbooks and am always looking at recipes on line. It would be hard to pick which recipe to do first.
Kitchen Aid is the best mixer.
Nuts in cookies? Most no. Some need them.
Banana bread and chocolate chip cookies are the first things I would make.
