To celebrate the 21st book in Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau series, The Immortal Who Loved Me, Avon asked if they could give away a 4.5 quart Kitchen Aid standing mixer here at the hot pink palace.
Like I would say no to anything that involved the remote possibility of baked goods, right?
Why baked goods? As Caro, the lovely publicists who came up with this buttery idea wrote to me, “Since the heroine, Sherry Carne, owns a kitchen goods store, I thought it’d be fun to give away a fancy KitchenAid stand mixer, because honestly, who doesn’t want one of those? It’s like the Cadillac of cookie equipment.” She’s not wrong – I have one, and I use it all the time. So let’s get to it, eh?
The grand prize is an Ultra Power® Series 4.5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer from KitchenAid, in the winner’s choice of color – and this thing comes in red, green, blue, pink, yellow, and something that looks a lot like Tiffany blue – it’s kind of amazing.
Ahoy, widget!
Standard disclaimers apply. This giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents only (I’m sorry). Void where prohibited. Must be over 18 and prepared to cream some butter to win. Euphemisms not included, except for the paddle attachment. But wait! There’s a second giveaway, too, for a second prize! In addition to a complete set of Sands’ Argeneau books – that’s a lot of books, too – the second prize also includes a set of two AirBake cookie sheets, size 14″x16″. (I have these cookie sheets and love them like madness.)
Standard disclaimers apply. This giveaway is open to US and Canadian residents only (I’m sorry again). Void where prohibited. Must be over 18 and prepared to bake like baking has never been baked before. Euphemisms absolutely included, in every possible way.
The giveaway will end at 12pm ET on Monday, 23 February. Winner will be announced 24 February 2015. Please email me with any questions or problems, ok? Good luck, and happy baked goods to everyone!

I’d bake a pound cake for my grandmother. She used to make them for me on every visit.
Cinnamon rolls! Kitchen aid mixers and books…my kind of contest.
Cookies. Lot of cookies!
German chocolate cake!
I love the standmixers. Would really love to have this one!!!
I love baking, but I’m terrible at it. I’d start off making a chocolate cake. I love making cakes from scratch.. I need plenty of practice though, I haven’t been successful yet 🙂
BREAD. KitchenAid + dough hook = bread dough kneading heaven.
And I *need* those baking sheets. Seriously. I do put nuts in cookies…certain kinds of cookies. The do NOT belong in all cookies. STAY OUT OF MY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, NUTS.
But my dad’s favorite Butterscotch Oatmeal cookies?! OH YES. Walnuts ahoy!
The first thing I’d bake if I won that beauty would be a birthday cake for my mom. 🙂
I would make homemade pizza dough and wonderful yeast breads!!!!!!!! Yes, I am starved for carbs!
Dark Chocolate chip cookies
I’d put in lots of coconut oil and make a whipped body butter.
Def would make some homemade bread. Hand kneading is soo much work, mixing is the only way to knead!
I’d whip up a batch of brownies, with nuts!
We have nut allergies in the family, so no can do. I’d love to be able to make cinnamon buns from scratch. Reading and baked goods, it doesn’t get much better than that. Thanks for the giveaways.
My goodness, I love seeing baking giveaways! Kitchenaids are awesome, and you can’t beat cookie sheets either. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I would make meringues! Trying to beat egg whites by hand is…tiring
I’d actually give this to my daughter, who is the family baker. She would probably start with some kind of fabulous cookie including chocolate.
Probably cinnamon rolls. It would be a great excuse.
I think I would make some brownies from scratch!! Yum!!
Waffles. I’m in a waffle mood!
Bread!
I would love to see if I could tweak the chocolate cheesecake recipe I have to be dairy free (yes, there is dairy free, soy free cream cheese…it is kind of nasty alone, but it could work with sugar and chocolate and stuff). You need a sturdy mixer for it since blocks of cream cheese are hard!
Mostly I am in lust with my mother’s old Kitchen Aid mixer and its nifty attachments.
My motto is The Nuttier the Better. Applies to life and baked goods equally. First I would probably make brownies with Ghirardelli chocolate and walnuts with my new hot pink (in honor of the bitchery) Kitchenaid mixer.
GAH I WOULD MAKE SO MUCH STUFF WITH THAT MIXER. I’d probably start with homemade marshmallows and then expand from that. Sigh.
Pumpkin muffins!
Lemon anything. In college I had the World’s Most Delicious Lemon Cake brought by an instructor at a Read and Feed. She wouldn’t share the recipe, so, of course, I’ve since collected every lemon cake recipe ever printed. If I win, I can start working my yummy way through them all! (It comes in yellow, right?)
Thanks for the opportunity!
I would make Carrot cake cupcakes.
Martha Stewart’s Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies – my favorite!
I’ve been on a quest for the past two years to put my own modifications on popular recipes for things like chocolate chip cookie and banana bread, and this mixer would be a huge help!
I would make a batch of meringues; they are just egg whites and sugar, the trick is in the baking. Follow that with a Lemon Cake-Top Pudding, so I can find out whether corn starch will work instead of the 4 tablespoons of flour. And then, I believe, some pecan sandies, made gluten-free by using corn flour and ground almond meal (or possibly pecan meal) in place of the flour. Adding a bit of tapioca flour makes them crisper, too.
cookies should never ever have nuts in them. If family insists on nuts, it should be one nut on the top of the cookie and thus easily removable. Nothing is worse than seeing a scrumptious looking cookie, taking a bite and finding out it was ruined by nuts…..
My first recipe would be a classic: chocolate chip cookies. Of course it’s not the lack of mixer that’s preventing me from baking. It’s the total lack of counter space in my kitchen.
I would make angel food cake. Because OMG angel food cake.
Thanks for the giveaway. I’ve never owned this particular mixer. I’d make chocolate chip cookies or zucchini bread. I don’t think nuts belong in cookies, just in the zucchini bread.
If I won the mixer, I’d first make chocolate chip cookies.
I prefer cookies without nuts.
the first thing I would bake would be cookies or maybe a carrot cake. Now I’m hungry.
I would attempt to bake a red velvet cake and whip up my own cream cheese frostin.
I love baking muffins and breads using non-grain flours. It’s been a dream of mine to have a KitchenAid!
A good KitchenAid mixer is a thing of beauty.
