Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley is 99c! That’s right, less than a dollar! This is a contemporary romance and the second book in the Colorado Mountain series. The heroine moves to a small Colorado town for a fresh start after her husband is caught cheating. Readers adored the hero, Tate, and his transition from grizzled ex-cop to considerate protector. A few reviews on GoodReads also mentioned that Ashley’s writing style took some time to get used it. Sweet Dreams has a 4.4-star rating on GoodReads.
She’s ready for the ride of her life . . .
Lauren Grahame is looking to reinvent herself. After leaving her cheating husband, Lauren moves to Carnal, Colorado, and gets a job as a waitress in a biker bar called Bubba’s. Then Came You by Jill Shalvis is $1.99! This is book five in her Animal Magnetism contemporary romance series. This book has a small town romance, a one-night stand, and adorable animals. What’s not to love? Though some found the story a bit predictable, the romance is natural and charming. Any Animal Magnetism fans out there?
Veterinary intern Emily can’t believe she wound up in the small town of Sunshine, Idaho, instead of the Los Angeles clinic she had always imagined. Now she has to put her plans to move to L.A. on hold for a whole year while she fulfills the obligation of her vet school scholarship.
Then Wyatt, her gorgeous one-night stand from a Reno vet conference, introduces himself as her new boss. And Emily is just as drawn to his seductive looks and quiet strength as she was on that very steamy night. She soon learns that Wyatt isn’t just a laid-back doctor, but a delicious alpha male tempting her away from her carefully laid-out plans…

Full Contact by Sidney Halston is 99c! A contemporary romance with a bad boy, MMA hero, the heroine seeks to escape an unhealthy, abusive relationship with her ex (trigger warning). Though several readers appreciated the heroine’s independent personality, there are a few who aren’t fans of the abusive relationship trope as part of the heroine’s backstory. It has a 4-star rating on GoodReads.

Putting that one up tomorrow! Thanks, Heather!
Fenske fan, here. I haven’t read this book, but the ones I have were delightful, with smart engaging characters, hilarious repartee, and good all around naughty fun. This is a well spent 2.99, IMO.
Shalvis fan here. I enjoy the Animal Magnetism series. Wyatt is wonderful. The heroine, a little dense.
I’m on the other side of the Kristen Ashley fence – tried a few and struggled through and Sweet Dreams is finally the one I DNF’d and decided she wasn’t my cup of tea. I didn’t feel like Tate respected Lauren (he never lets her finish a sentence!) and felt like it dragged on forever. YMMV of course.
That MMA one sounds intriguing though! I’m reading Say Yes to the Marquess now which has a bare-knuckle boxer hero – might be interesting to compare Regency brawling to modern bouts!
I found that Sidney Halston’s style of writing is similar to the great Kristen Ashley. I absolutely love Sweet Dreams (my favorite) and loved Full Contact. Highly recommend both.
I think I’ll pick up Shalvis next.
Sweet Dreams is $3.99. Was it a one day sale? What am I missing?
