The first two books in Theresa Romain’s Holiday Pleasures series are on sale! I’m barely containing the squee over here. One thing I love about Romain’s writing is that it’s very thoughtful and deliberate. I get the sense that each scene, each line is there for a reason (I said as much on EW’s book’s show on Sirius XM, which airs later today, I think) and things that seem inconsequential become poignant and important in unexpected ways.
Romain is one of my favorite historical authors, and RedHeadedGirl and Elyse like her books as well. Elyse gave her book It Takes Two To Tangle a B and To Charm a Naughty Countess a B+. And RedHeadedGirl read Season for Scandal, and gave it an A+. So if you’ve been curious, this month there are two of hers on sale, including one that was a Sizzling Book Club Pick!

RECOMMENDED: Season for Surrender by Theresa Romain is $2.99 right now at most if not all vendors. This book was a Sizzling Book Club Pick, and I loved it all kinds of ways. It takes place at a scandalous holiday house party, and features a hero who learns how to be a better person, and a heroine who isn’t taking any crap from anyone. As I wrote when I announced this book as the club selection, “Y’all, they are in the library a great deal, and those are some of the best scenes in the book.”

I enjoyed both of these books. She is an autobuy for me, so I will probably never wait for one of her titles to go on sale.
Every year I think about reading a book with a holiday theme during the actual holiday season, but never find a book until well after. Now I am prepared well in advance. And my budget is gasping its last breathe. I’m sure my niece and nephew will be totally understanding when I explain why they’re getting socks for Christmas. If not, I’m blaming it all on you Sarah.
