Books On Sale

Books on Sale: Black Friday Deals Everywhere

It’s Black Friday, which is matched in fervor only by the adorably named Cyber Monday (ah, “cyber,” so quaint!) when it comes to things on sale. I’ve got a few links for you here in addition to the books on sale, and I’ll be updating this post as more sales appear in the inbox.

If you have any sales you’d like to alert us to, please feel free to drop them in the comments!

Harlequin has a site-wide 40% off Black Friday sale today through 1 December. If you use code BF2014 at checkout you’ll get 40% list price on all print and ebooks they sell – nice! Plus, there are several titles marked down to $.99-3.99 at all vendors – see the listings below for more details on some books you might really like.

B&N has some limited-edition signed editions of bestselling books on sale for Black Friday.

  • Sleigh Bells in the Snow

Sleigh Bells in the Snow by Sarah Morgan

Sleigh Bells in the Snow by Sarah Morgan is $1.99 until 1 December. This is a contemporary romance, and the first in the O’Neil brothers trilogy, which takes place at a ski resort in Vermont.

This book was a Sizzling Book Club Pick, and was nominated for a RITA as well. Our two RITA-reader reviewers both gave the book an A/A- respectively.

Once upon a time, Christmas was Kayla Green’s favorite time of year. Now all the workaholic wants for Christmas is for it to be over—as fast as possible! So when duty calls her to snowy Vermont to close a deal with a new client, Kayla is grateful for an excuse to avoid the holidays for another year.

Jackson O’Neil left a thriving business behind to return home and salvage his family’s resort—it’s in his blood, and he can’t let it fail. Now that he’s got marketing whiz Kayla Green working with him to put Snow Crystal on the map, success is on the horizon. The fact they strike enough sparks off each other to power all the Christmas lights in Vermont is just an added bonus.

Kayla might be an expert at her job, but she’s out of her depth with Jackson—he makes her crave the happy-ever-after she once dreamed of, and it’s terrifying. As the snowflakes continue to swirl, will the woman who doesn’t believe in the magic of Christmas finally fall under its spell?

  • Taken With You

Taken With You by Shannon Stacey

Taken With You by Shannon Stacey is $1.99 through 1 December. This is book 8 in the Kowalski series, and features the town librarian, Hailey. I reviewed it and gave it a B, saying, “Short version: it didn’t blow my mind and give me giddy book squee or Good Book Noise® like some of the other Kowalski novels have. But it was a lovely entertaining contemporary with funny-funny, real emotion and a particularly awesome dog.”

Hailey Genest has seen most of her friends marry and have babies, and she’s happy for them, but it was a lot easier before she hit forty. She’s spent her entire life in Whitford, Maine, and if she hasn’t found her Prince Charming by now, she has to accept she’s probably not going to. When a new friend suggests they go on an adventure and embrace being single, Hailey agrees.

Surviving in the woods is game warden Matt Barnett’s idea of a relaxing vacation. But when he meets two women in need of help, he leads them back to safety—a task that proves more fun than expected, thanks to a certain hot blonde. He can’t resist pushing her buttons, even though she’s made it clear that the rugged, outdoorsy type just isn’t for her.

Hailey is glad to see the back of her tempting-tour-guide-slash-pain-in-the-ass. When he shows up in her life again, she’s determined to avoid him, no matter how good he looks in his uniform. But that’s easier said than done in Whitford, especially when he’s renting the house right next door….

  • The Prince

    The Prince by Tiffany Reisz

The Prince by Tiffany Reisz is $3.99 through 1 December. This is erotica, not quite romance, and Elyse is a huge fan of Reisz’s work.

Two worlds of wealth and passion call to Nora Sutherlin and, whichever one she chooses, it will be the hardest decision she will ever have to make. Unless someone makes it for her…

Wes Railey is the object of Nora’s tamest yet most maddening fantasies, and the one man she can’t forget. He’s young. He’s wonderful. He’s also thoroughbred royalty and, reuniting with him in Kentucky, she’s in his world now. But this infamous New York dominatrix is no simpering Southern belle, and Nora’s dream of fitting into Wesley’s world is perpetually at odds with the relentlessly seductive pull of Søren—her owner, her lover, the forever she cannot have. At least, not completely.

Meanwhile Nora’s associate Kingsley Edge is only too happy to take her place at Søren’s feet during her hiatus. Søren is the only man Kingsley has ever loved, and their dark, shared history has forged a bond that neither the years—nor Søren’s love for Nora—can break. But a new threat from an old adversary is forcing Kingsley to confront the past, reminding him that he must keep his friends close, and his enemies closer.

The Prince cover – I don’t understand. Have my eyes gone wonky? I see a double-jointed butt – and a guy whose lower bits have been eaten by The Fog, and a hand with long fingers and skinny tips – is it an evil hand? Holding the dude down in the ether? Does it belong to the double-jointed topper? Is she multiply-double-jointed?

    I be creeped.
