Sizzling Book Club Pick and Giveaway: A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev

Book A Bollywood AffairI loved this book, I’ve mentioned it on the podcast several times, I wrote about the cover ages ago on Kirkus, AND Jane and I both liked it (which is so rare an event in and of itself I bought more wine just in case the apocalypse was coming and I needed fortifications).

Ready for explosions of mayhem and merriment?

A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev is on sale today! And I liked it so much, I’m making it a Sizzling Book Club pick for November!

No lie, I liked this book so much, I wanted to hold a book club discussion about it. A review wasn’t enough to contain the squee and the curiosity.

If you’re not familiar with the Sizzling Book Club, there are three things you need to know.

Thing the first!

AllRomance is offering a 50% eBookBuck rebate for this book from  28 October – 11 November. This means that you’ll get half of the cost of the book back in eBook Bucks, which you can then use to buy MORE BOOKS. Oh, the humanity.

And since this book is a bit expensive for an ebook at $9-13, the rebate is a jolly good thing to have, I think. And in my opinion (and in Courtney Milan’s opinion during our last podcast), this book is worth the price.

You can also find print copies at Amazon, BN, or your local library (US).

Thing the Second!

I will be hosting a Book Club Chat about this book here at the site on November 18, 2014 at 9:00pm ET. Author Sonali Dev will be joining us in the chat for a Q&A at 10:00pm ET.

Thing the Third!

I’m giving away 5 digital copies for your reading pleasure. Kensington is also offering up 5 paper copies, too. WOO!

You can enter those two giveaways below:

By submitting an entry to the contest as set forth herein, each entrant does acknowledge and agree that, in the event such entrant is victorious, such entrant will perform a ceremony reasonably appropriate to such circumstance. Please keep hands, feet, arms, legs, and tentacles inside the tram car.  I’ll select the winners at random on Friday 31 October 2014.

I really want to hear what you have to say about this book if you read it, so I hope you’ll join us for the Book Club Chat. Ready to read? Oh, I hope you enjoy it.

A note: currently behind the scenes, magical and technically tricky things are going on here at the hot pink palace of Bitchery. Ergo, the comments for this entry may be closed. To make up for it, I’ve added an option to tweet about the giveaway, which earns you an extra entry should you take that option (you certainly do not have to!). Comments will be back up very soon, I pinky-swear!

    This book is on my wish list.  There are so many great releases this time of year:  Ann Leckie, Ilona Andrews, Faith Hunter, to name a few.  I want to hibernate and read for a few weeks straight.  Too bad about that working for a living thing.

  2. SB Sarah says:

    @Susan:

    I know this feeling so well. I flew from Vancouver to Newark yesterday and sat in my seat reading a book and listening to music for over 5 hours. It was wonderful. I’m bummed I can’t do the same today!

  3. Avery Flynn says:

    I loved this book so much. It made me laugh. It made me ugly cry. It made me decide to incorporate the word donkey into more of my cursing. It made me do the heart-fluttery happy sigh at the end. Seriously. Loved. This. Book. It’s my pick for romance of the year.

  4. TheoLibrarian says:

    I loved this book so much! I’m excited to finally have other people with whom I can discuss it!

  5. rameau says:

    Thanks for the giveaway. I’ve been sitting on my hands determined to wait until price drops even a little before getting this book.

  6. Kareni says:

    What fun!  I’ve heard nothing but good things about this book.

  7. Kate I. says:

    I was excited to start reading Alice Clayton’s “Redhead” series because I’d heard lots of good things about it (and her “Cocktail” series, which I’ve not yet begun). The first in the trilogy turned out to be so much fun that I immediately snapped up the other two titles. I found them all delightful!

  8. cleo says:

    What’s the rebate code at ARe? I don’t see it on their site.

  9. Renee Grimmett says:

    I’m waiting for an ILL library to process their new copies so I can put a hold on one, so it would be great to get a copy right now!

  10. SB Sarah says:

    @Cleo:

    The rebate should be automatically applied, but you can use code SBTBARE at checkout.

  11. I clicked over to ARe to check the price of ABA. Searched “A Bollywood Affair” … no such title. Searched “Sonali Dev” … no such author. Clicked over to OmniLit, where I finally found it. It really isn’t classified as a romance, is it? o_O

  12. SB Sarah says:

    @Ms Bookjunkie:

    Weird, isn’t it? Sometimes I find things in OmniLit that I’d expected to find at ARe, and am so confused. Glad you found it, though.

  13. […] if the planets truly align, force Sarah from Smart Bitches and Jane from Dear Author to a rare agreement on liking your book.  The blueprint might also include a nomination to RT Magazine’s Reviewer’s Choice awards for […]
