  1. Monica Vargo says:

I haven’t read any of the books in the series, but Carrie’s review has sold me on this one. So far my favorite small town contemporaries novels are Jill Shalvis’s Lucky Harbor books.

  2. DonnaMarie says:

I’ve fallen in love with Molly O’Keefe’s Boys of Bishop series which takes place in a small southern town. Although calling them boys is a giant misnomer.

  3. Karin says:

I don’t read a lot of contemporaries, but I love Robyn Carr’s Virgin River books. She has a number of heroes that are military vets, and so do Debbie Macomber and Suzanne Brockman, I enjoy those too. I’m really looking forward to His Road Home.

  4. Mary C. says:

Sounds good – thanks for the giveaway.

  5. Celia Marsh says:

This one is totally already on my to-read shelf at goodreads.

  6. mariab says:

Okay, I’m putting my name in the lotto, then checking how much it costs.  That way I might feel like I won the lotto, even if I don’t. Great review, hope the book is as good. 🙂

  7. ML says:

I love Jodi Thomas’ Harmony series for small-town romance. Thanks for the contest!

  8. heather says:

I have not read any of these books but they sound interesting.

  9. Naomi says:

Ooh, that sounds like it could be quite good, indeed.

  10. Naomi says:

(Having apparently skimmed past half the contest instructions: I haven’t read anything by Anna Richland, in part because my library doesn’t have any of her books, but I like the Lucky Harbor series.)

  11. Kelly S says:

I have not read any of this series.  Would you be so kind when you announce the winners to list out the series in order? I’m a little OCD about reading a series in order.

Lucky Harbor series is probably my current favorite small town, contemporary series.

  12. Nancy Barry says:

The Lucky Harbor series is my favorite small-town contemporary series. Although I do love Nora Roberts’s standalones in small towns.

  13. Vasha says:

I don’t like small-town contemporaries… but this sounds like an exception

  14. Aislinn says:

I really want to read this. I tried to preorder it and it didn’t work. 🙁 Can’t wait to try it!

  15. Gina says:

This sounds fantastic! Thanks for holding the contest.

  16. Dee says:

I haven’t read too many small town contemporary series other than some of the Lucky Harbor ones, but I enjoyed the review of this book and definitely want to read it.

  17. Margarita says:

Come to meeeee, come to meeeeeee!

  18. flchen1 says:

I haven’t read Anna Richland yet, but do enjoy small-town romance.  I’ve recently read and enjoyed Kieran Kramer’s Sweet Talk Me, which was an enjoyable VERY small town story 🙂

  19. Angie G says:

I haven’t read the series, but it looks great!  I’m a big fan of Jill Shalvis who writes great small town romances.  🙂

  20. Katie Lynn says:

If there wasn’t the possibility to win this I would have already purchased it. But for now I am going to put it on my wish list for later.

  21. Shari says:

I haven’t read any of the series, but I love a good novella. I’ve discovered many new authors through novellas.

  22. Sandra says:

I haven’t read any of the series but novella is my middle name.  i’m looking forward to this one

  23. Jen says:

This sounds like a fascinating read.  I would love to win this, but if I don’t I’ll probably end up getting it.

  24. Anne says:

Carrie did a great job on her review!  I’m just starting to get into the genre, and, like many of the commenters, I’m also intrigued by the fact that the main characters are POCs.  This would be so fun to win!

  25. Theresa says:

I love small town contemporaries. I always wanted to marry my older brother’s best friend, but I don’t actually have an older brother. Tragic, so that’s my reading catnip.

  26. Collette says:

I haven’t read any in this series yet.  I like Lauren Dane’s small town series, Jill Shalvis and mostly Susan Mallery’s.  I live in a big city myself and there’s something appealing about (READING ABOUT!!!!) living in a small town. 😉

  27. Julie says:

I haven’t read any of this series, but my goodness that review makes me want to read this novella right NOW.

  28. Alaina says:

i have not ready any, but would love to! 😛

  29. Okay … I’m the author. I’ll chime in and clarify the reading order, if that’s okay?

His Road Home is a stand alone novella, don’t sweat the order. There is none.

It’s only my second published book! You all are making me feel like I must have six more under the bed and a set order, but I don’t!

Sergeant Rey Cruz appeared as a teammate/classic sidekick in my debut First to Burn – but that book and this novella are totally separate. You can read this one first.

And it’s an odd duck for small town romance – it’s not really a traditional small town romance. I wouldn’t say it’s not small town b/c a lot of the events take place driving across the country, which is filled with small towns, and Rey and Grace both come from the same small town (oh, I hear Mellencamp…) but Grace lives in Seattle and that’s where her job is. So if you love small town romances, I think it will work for you, but if you don’t actually like or read small town romances – it’s not all in one setting. It’s a road trip. So it will work for you too.

Thank you so much for entering the contest!

  30. JL says:

I haven’t read this author before, but the review totally sold me. Love Shannon Stacey and Jill Shalvis a far as small town contemporaries go. Can I just say I also enjoyed reading the giveaway’s fine print?

  31. Roarscribe says:

This book is on my wishlist for the weekend.

  32. LaineyT says:

I haven’t read any of this series but the review definitely has me interested.

  33. Bella says:

I don’t normally read contemporaries, but put two leads of color in a romance and I am so in!! I’ve heard almost unilaterally good things about this book and even if I don’t win I will probably buy it anyway :’)

  34. Ngan says:

I haven’t try this series yet but really want to. I really like Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor series.

  35. Karen says:

I read contemporaries almost exclusively. My favorite small-town ones are Jill Shalvis’s Lucky Harbor series (the last may be the best) and Molly O’Keefe’s The Boys of Bishops (just finished the related Indecent Proposal—omgracious).
