Carina Press has a handful of paranormal romance titles for sale through the end of the month. You can find a full list here!
Quicksilver Dreams by Danube Adele is 99c! This book has a little bit of everything. Falling in lust with your Hottie McHotterson next door neighbor. A heroine who develops supernatural abilities. Said Hottie McHotterson being a secret agent from another world. You know, the usual. Most readers feel like it's more science fiction romance than paranormal and that the internal monologues became a little repetitive, but many seemed to really enjoy the quick pace of the plot. It has a 3.8-star rating on GR and is the first book in the Dreamwalkers series.
My name is Taylor, and damn but my life changed overnight. One moment I was just a regular girl working two jobs to pay my bills, and next thing you know, I'm uncovering secret metal disks at my boss's house. Now I'm reading minds, dream-walking and being saved from bad guys by Mr. Dark and Brooding.
That would be Ryder Langston, my new next-door neighbor. He's sex on legs, but he's also a secret agent from another world—no joke. I believe him now, because he dragged me back here “for my protection” after he discovered someone was trying to assassinate me on Earth. It isn't working out so well.
There's a war going on, one that's been fought for generations. Ryder's having trust issues (not that it's stopping us from falling into bed), and it turns out I'm connected here, if you know what I mean. The target on my back finally makes sense, but there's nowhere left to hide…

A Reason to Believe by Diana Copland is 99c! This a M/M paranormal romance involving ghosts. Our detective hero hires a medium after being plagued by visions following a case gone wrong. There's definitely a mystery/suspense aspect to the story. Blending genres is something I feel Carina Press authors do really well. Reviewers on GR warn that the plot is a little slow when it comes to pacing, but the relationship between the two heroes was just right. It has an impressive 4-star rating on GR.
Detective Matthew Bennett doesn't believe in ghosts. So when the spirit of a murdered child leads him to her body, he's shaken to the core—and taken off the case. RECOMMENDED: Sabriel by Garth Nix is $1.99! Many of you were talking about the continuation of this series in our recent Hide Your Wallet post. For those who want to jump on the awesome train or want to convince a friend/family to jump on with you, the first book in the Abhorsen series can be snagged for less than $2! This young adult fantasy novel involves a girl, magic, a boarding school, and a quest to find her missing father. Some recent readers of the series found the material a little dated, but they seem to be in the minority as the book is closing in on 100,000 ratings on GR with a 4.1-star rating overall.
Sent to a boarding school in Ancelstierre as a young child, Sabriel has had little experience with the random power of Free Magic or the Dead who refuse to stay dead in the Old Kingdom. But during her final semester, her father, the Abhorsen, goes missing, and Sabriel knows she must enter the Old Kingdom to find him. She soon finds companions in Mogget, a cat whose aloof manner barely conceals its malevolent spirit, and Touchstone, a young Charter Mage long imprisoned by magic, now free in body but still trapped by painful memories. As the three travel deep into the Old Kingdom, threats mount on all sides. And every step brings them closer to a battle that will pit them against the true forces of life and death—and bring Sabriel face-to-face with her own destiny.
With Sabriel, the first installment in the Abhorsen trilogy, Garth Nix exploded onto the fantasy scene as a rising star, in a novel that takes readers to a world where the line between the living and the dead isn't always clear—and sometimes disappears altogether.

HIGHLY recommend the Abhorsen (trilogy, which is what it used to be called) series. The fourth book, Clariel, comes out in four days. FOUR DAYS. TEN WHOLE YEARS after the third whole book came out (I am not including the book of short stories in my count). This is one of the few books from when I was in high school that I actually still own, and went back and purchased in hardcover to replace my ratty paperback.
I can’t figure out how “Sabriel” could be “dated”. :/ Also – I work at BAM and we didn’t have a strict on-sale date for “Clariel”, so we have it out on the Best in Teen table display – please go check your local BAM! I borrrowed it from work and am looking forward to reading it after finishing not-fun school reading and papers and shenanigans.
