Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

HaBO: Sometimes, the Pantyhose is the Thing You Remember

You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

This request comes from Myranda, who is looking for a Harlequin suspense – she thinks!

Hello! I've been searching for this book so long that it's driving me crazy! I've tried googling without any success. I read this book in the late 90s, possibly very early 2000s. I think it was published in the 90s. It was my grandma's and she died in 2003 so I know it was published before then. It was a Harlequin, Suspense or Intrigue, I believe. I know it had that purple on the cover that the Intrigues had.

It was about man and woman who were spying in another country (possibly Russia, I know I was cold there). The man and woman slept together while on a mission and then the man was injured and got amnesia.

Flash forward, they're in the states and separated. She's out (looking for him I think) and almost gets run down by a car or she jumps out of the car of someone trying to abduct her. She is rescued by the guy with amnesia.

I know her pantyhose is stuck to her knee from scraping it getting away from the car (random, I know, but that's what I remember).

They work together to try to get him to remember, I think a hypnotist may be involved at some point…I know this is disjointed but it's what I remember.

And I remembered the cover: there was a woman peeking through some window blinds. Sorry for the rambling request which probably makes no sense!

That pantyhose thing sounds kinda painful. Ouch. Anyone recognize this book?

Sorry, don’t know the book, but I have worn pantyhose a lot in my day, and yes, that happened on occasion, and yes, it is dang painful.  Removing said hose requires lots of warm water and patience.  :=(

The only cover I found with a woman looking through blinds, was more recent and the storyline dissimilar, but I did find this one with a man at the window, special agents and amnesia… “Midnight Remembered by Gayle Wilson

  3. Vasha says:

The mention of “that purple cover” narrows things down considerably because Intrigue started using it in 2000.

  4. Nikki H says:

I also thought of Gayle Wilson’s “Midnight Remembered” when I read this HaBO.

Thank you for posting my HABO request! You guys are right, it was Midnight Remembered! I was pretty sure my description was too confusing for anybody to help me. That’ll teach me to doubt all of you! 🙂

    Awesome!

I’ve loved romance novels since I was 14years old. When I tell people that’s my favorite kind of read I get reactions as though I’m an unrealustic moron. However I think I’m more realistic because I can escape into different time and be somewhere where men are a bit different from reality.I also like the fact that most are rich and that sure ain’t real. What’wrong with a little escapism…Reality is stressful!!

I’m going to have to get this one because I luuurve me some Harlequin Intrigue!  That’s the first of their line I really got into, and I still love it.

  9. Niki says:

That had happened to me with jeans, more than once.  Super, super painful to get the cloth out once healing has begun!

    Great job, smart bitches!
