Book Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart

Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart by Sarah MacLean is still $1.99 at Amazon.

This is the third and final book in MacLean's Love by Numbers series. Readers seemed to really love the pairing of the outgoing, scandalous Italian heroine and the arrogant, proper British hero. However, this book also seems to have a case of love-it-or-hate-it. It's hard to find a mediocre review on GR, though it does have a 4-star rating.

She lives for passion.

Bold, impulsive, and a magnet for trouble, Juliana Fiori is no simpering English miss. She refuses to play by society’s rules: she speaks her mind, cares nothing for the approval of the ton, and can throw a punch with remarkable accuracy. Her scandalous nature makes her a favorite subject of London’s most practiced gossips…and precisely the kind of woman the Duke of Leighton wants far far away from him.

He swears by reputation.

Scandal is the last thing Simon Pearson has room for in his well-ordered world. The Duke of Disdain is too focused on keeping his title untainted and his secrets unknown. But when he discovers Juliana hiding in his carriage late one evening–risking everything he holds dear–he swears to teach the reckless beauty a lesson in propriety.

She has other plans, however; she wants two weeks to prove that even an unflappable duke is not above passion.

Book Secrets of Seduction

Secrets of Seduction by Nicole Jordan is still $1.99 at most vendors – woo hoo!

The third book in the Legendary Lovers series, this came out this past April. This is a historical romance between a scarred (physically and emotionally) duke and the woman who's always loved him, though she's kept her feelings to herself. This is catnip for anyone who loves crush-type stories. Some readers have commented that the sex scenes are rather mild, but found the H/H to be rather likeable and fun. Anyone read this yet?

The most charming Wilde cousin, Lady Skye has secretly loved the enigmatic Earl of Hawkhurst since girlhood, long before the tragedy that left him scarred both physically and emotionally. When Skye learns that the celebrated hero has returned to England from his self-imposed exile to make a cold marriage of convenience, she brazenly plants herself on his castle doorstep, determined to convince Hawk that she alone is his true mate and destiny.

An elite member of the Guardians of the Sword, Hawk has vowed never again to risk the pain of loving—but that’s before he deals with the most enchanting, annoyingly persistent seductress he’s ever encountered. One night of blazing passion leaves him impossibly torn. Will Hawk choose duty over love, or will he open his heart and let Skye’s healing light penetrate his darkness?

Book Tempted By His Touch

Tempted by His Touch: A Limited Edition Boxed Set of Dukes, Rogues, & Alpha Heroes is a boxed set of ten historical romances from assorted authors, and it's still on sale for .99c.

The plots feature familiar tropes remixed, such as a heroine in love with her brother's best friend (Lady of Pleasure), or a wealthy independent widow looking for friends-with-benefits (Once Upon a Duke ).  Elyse's reviewed A Dangerous Invitation in this set and gave it an A:

A Dangerous Invitation by Erica Monroe is a romance novel, with hot, hot sexiness, set in the slums and rookeries of London in 1832, with a gripping suspense plot. It also features a hot Irish hero, a heroine who walks around in a big old greatcoat, fires a Flintlock pistol, and kicks ass. It’s catnip I didn’t know I had. If I could inject this book directly into my veins, I would.

~Includes exclusive material! Titles have over 200 5-star reviews on Amazon~

Scoundrel Ever After by Darcy Burke – Once upon a time there was a very bad boy who met a very nice girl….

Lady of Pleasure by Delilah Marvelle (RT Award-winning author) – Educating a man in the art of love takes time. Lots of it.

To Dare the Duke of Dangerfield by Bronwen Evans (USA Today Bestselling author) – What's a lady to do when a notorious rake wins her estate in a game of cards?

Undone by Lila DiPasqua – One steamy, emotionally charged retelling of Rapunzel…Rescuing this beauty from the 'tower' is only the beginning…

The Problem with Seduction by Emma Locke – Elizabeth Spencer needs a man. She doesn't need to like him–because while she needs a man, she doesn't particularly want one.

A Dangerous Invitation by Erica Monroe – Daniel O'Reilly returns to win back Kate Morgan's heart and prove he's innocent of murder.

Once Upon a Duke by Eva Devon – A widow looking to get seduced. A duke more than willing to oblige.

Hey girls, sorry this is a bit off topic. I was just thinking how lucky we are to have such wonderful authors giving us such great stories. I just finished Susan Wiggs Home Before Dark. Any book that makes me cry three times is solid gold. Thanks Susan.

  2. Yaara says:

Anyone else see the Nicole Jordan cover and do a double take thinking her leg was his? Cannot unsee.

  3. jw says:

I secretly love Eleven Scandals. I wish stern blonde dudes were more common in romance.

  4. Cecilia says:

Thank you for the suggestions! I just bought the Seven Wicked Nights set for just .87 Euro cents on amazon 🙂

  5. Shannon says:

I picked up Secrets of Seduction when this was posted earlier.  I enjoyed the story premise, that heroine thought Beauty and the Beast was her trope.  The thing is that the hero really isn’t a beast, either physically (a little wounded) or socially (he is amused at her fairy tale idea).  There was a little bit of shared characters with short synopsis of each of their stories, making me wonder if this needs to be read as a series.  A decent tale, but it won’t be on my re-read list.

  6. Anna Bradley says:

I like it when a fiery heroine “schools” a stuffy hero. I haven’t read Eleven Scandals or any other book in the series but it’s on my list now. Too many books to read!
