The Wedding Favor by Cara Connelly is $1.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble! Send some prayers to the price matching goddess for more e-tailers to get in on the action. This contemporary romance is the first in Connelly's Save the Date series with the second book coming out this September. Meeting at a wedding in Houston, romance flares between a rancher and a lawyer. However, this lawyer also happens to be the defense attorney, who represented the insurance company after our hero's wife is hit and killed by a drunk driver. Talk about an enemies-to-lovers plot. The back and forth between our heroine and hero was something readers loved, though the last quarter of the book tended to drag for most. This book has a 4.0-star rating on GR.
Before the Wedding
Tyrell Brown wanted to get the hell out of Houston and back to his ranch. Instead, he's stuck on a flight to France for his best friend's wedding. To top it off, he discovers he's sharing a seat with Victoria Westin, the blue-eyed, stiletto-heeled lawyer who's been a thorn in his side for months.
At the Wedding
Victoria can't believe it! How can she be at the same wedding as this long, lean cowboy with a killer smile? So what if they shared a few in-flight cocktails, some serious flirting, and a near-miss at the mile-high club? She still can't stand the man!
After the Wedding
The wedding disaster's in the rearview, but the sizzle between these two is still red-hot. They tried to be on their best behavior in France, but back in the States all bets are off…
Falling for Owen by Jennifer Ryan is 99c! This is the second book in Ryan's McBrides series and our hero is a lawyer/rancher. Sound familiar? A contemporary romance, this book features some romantic suspense elements when an angry client of Owen's targets his neighbor. Though the plot was a little predictable, readers found our protagonists unbelievably adorable when together. Anyone familiar with this series?
Attorney by day, rancher by night Owen McBride conquered his dark past and made it his mission to help the innocent-even at the expense of a personal life. But when a client's abusive ex-husband targets Owen and his gorgeous neighbor Claire gets caught in the crossfire, his feelings turn anything but professional. The mysterious beauty awakens something in him, and he'll move heaven and earth to keep her safe.
Coffee shop owner Claire Walsh learned the hard way that handsome men aren't to be trusted. Owen may be sexy as hell and determined to take care of her, but she's reluctant to put her heart on the line. His presence in her life puts a target on her back, yet the more time she spends with him, the more she finds she can't help falling for Owen.

Eden Burning by Elizabeth Lowell is $1.99! Originally published under the title Fires of Eden, this is a contemporary romance between a scientist and his research assistant. Set in a Hawaiian paradise, our hero and heroine just have their work, each other, and more than their fair share of baggage. While some readers found this to have perfect balance between “steamy and sweet,” others felt it suffered from too much purple prose.
Paradise calls to Chase Wilcox. A man of science, escaping the destruction of his own personal world, he is drawn to the lush beauty of the island of Hawaii and the secrets it holds. Here he intends to immerse himself in his work . . . and somehow heal and forget.
A research assistant, an artist, and a dancer, Nicole Ballard also hides a secret pain. Together on an important scientific project in the moist, verdant heart of a tropical wonderland, both she and Chase will be forced to confront their own lingering inner darkness. But in the shadows of Mount Kilauea, a passion that burns like fire will erupt, as unpredictable and dangerous as the living volcano, transforming the very landscape of their lives.

Rodeo Queen by T.J. Kline is 99c! A contemporary western romance, this book features a rodeo champion heroine and her cowboy boss on the circuit. If anyone's catnip contains jaded horseback riders with large Stetsons and even larger…belt buckles, this one's for you. The heroine is whip smart and readers enjoyed her sassiness, though some felt the hero's resistance to be unfounded. This book has a 4.0-star rating on GR. Has anyone picked this up?
Sydney Thomas may be the newest Rodeo Queen on the circuit, but she's more than just a pretty face and fabulous horseback rider. If only her new boss could see it! But the frustrating, bossy, drop-dead gorgeous man seems bent on pushing her away every chance he gets.
Scott Chandler learned at an early age that he needed to “cowboy up” and take care of his family. The one time he let his guard down, his heart got trampled, and he's not about to let that happen again. He knows Sydney's type: rodeo queens who hide their manipulative ways behind good looks, tight jeans, and glittery tiaras.
But just as Scott and Sydney are finally realizing there might be more to their fiery relationship than scorching kisses and passionate nights, secrets from their pasts come back to haunt them. Will the cowboy and the Rodeo Queen ever be able to ride off into the sunset together?

That first cover…. Did anyone else think that Avon logo was one of those dangling feather earrings at first glance? Then I squinted harder and thought, Is he wearing his mama’s bridal gown????
@PamG: Yes. Yes. A thousand times, yes.
Agatha H. and the Airship City, by Phil and Kaja Foglio, is on sale for $1.99 for Kindle. This is the novelization of the first story arc of the wonderful webcomic Girl Genius. If you’re not already addicted, what are you waiting for?
I’m moving to the Big Island of Hawaii in two months, so I feel like I really need to get Eden Burning for research purposes. Right up there with James Michener’s Hawai’i, I’m sure.
Did I already miss the sale price for The Wedding Favor? It’s showing as $6.64 on AZ. I guess I’ve gotta move fast(er)!
Eden Burning was one of my least favorite Lowell books. But I bought it anyway.
@PamG What @Amanda said – yup, totally did, repeatedly
Alas, these are all over $10 in Canada 🙁
@Kristie:
I’m sorry. Any time I know of a deal that’s valid in Canada, I will send up the largest of flares. 🙁
I was intrigued by that first cover too. But my immediate reaction was to wonder how both models could have that windswept hair look with the wind blowing in different directions for each of them. Like there’s a tiny, invisible fan right between them blowing in 2 directions at once….
Lisajo885 I live on the Big Island! Look me up when you arrive 🙂
