Book Desperate Duchesses 4 This Duchess of Mine

Several Eloisa James ebooks are on sale right now, so if you're a fan of her historical romances, you can stock up for some lengthy enjoyable reading afternoons (or mornings, or whenever you read). This Duchess of Mine is $2.99. This is the final book in the Desperate Duchesses Series, and many reviews indicate that to fully appreciate the story, you have to read the prior books, as these two characters appear in each of the previous books.

Wedding bells celebrating the arranged marriage between the lovely Duchess of Beaumont and her staid, imperturbable duke had scarcely fallen silent when a shocking discovery sent Jemma running from the ducal mansion.

For the next nine years she cavorted abroad, creating one delicious scandal after another (if one is to believe the rumors).

Elijah, Duke of Beaumont, did believe those rumors.

But the handsome duke needs an heir, so he summons his seductive wife home. Jemma laughs at Elijah's cool eyes and icy heart—but to her secret shock, she doesn't share his feelings. In fact, she wants the impossible: her husband's heart at her feet.

But what manner of seduction will make a man fall desperately in love . . . with his own wife?

  1. Lil says:

I adored James’ Duchess series, and one of the high points was Poppy’s hair in An Affair Before Christmas.

  2. Jules says:

This Duchess of Mine is not the last one in the series. It should be book 5. Book 6 is A Duke of Her Own.

I think Ms. James’ next book (or the book after) is loosely connected to this series with the hero being one of the children featured in A Duke of Her Own. It’s called Book 7 on Goodreads, but the overarching plot points wrap up in book 6.

I highly recommend this series. It is one of my favorites!

  3. Dread Pirate Rachel says:

I would perish with delight if I never read another description of a female character that included the word “feisty.” It is so utterly condescending and infantilizing. I may just embark on a career as a cover copy writer for the sole purpose of describing EVERY GODDAMN HERO as “feisty.” Then maybe publishers would see how ridiculous it is.

  4. Dread Pirate Rachel says:

Oh, and also I’m buying This Duchess of Mine because I must know what made Jemma leave. And because I can’t resist a discounted EJ. Damn it.

Captcha: figure38. Yep, I figure I’ve bought about 38 of EJ’s books. There are that many, right?

  5. LisaJo885 says:

Poppy and Fletch are one of my favorite romance couples. And yes, her hair gives me the jigglies and scream with laughter.
