Books on Sale: One-Week Only Julie James Discount, and More!

Book Something About You - Julie James

RECOMMENDED. Something About You is $1.99. This book was featured in our Save the Contemporary campaign when it came out. Heck, it WON the DABWAHA in 2011. If you like contemporary romance, you'll probably like this. James writes very smart characters who don't forget how to do their jobs when their pants become slightly horny, and her stories have emotional and sexual tension to spare. Just go buy it. It's $2! For one week only!

Of all the hotel rooms rented by all the adulterous politicians in Chicago, female Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde had to choose the one next to 1308, where some hot-and-heavy lovemaking ends with a death. And of all the FBI agents in Illinois, it had to be Special Agent Jack Pallas who gets assigned to this high-profile homicide. The same Jack Pallas who still blames Cameron for a botched crackdown three years ago—and for nearly ruining his career.

Work with Cameron Lynde? Are they kidding? Maybe, Jack thinks, this is some kind of welcome-back prank after his stint away from Chicago. But it's no joke; the pair is going to have to put their rocky past behind them and focus on the case at hand. That is, if they can cut back on the razor-sharp jibes—and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension

However, from the beginning she is drawn to the sexy, rich and bored Jamie–he's got everything he could ever want, and enjoys nothing more than messing with people's lives for his own entertainment.

Mia knows getting involved with Jamie is a bad idea, but there's something so dangerously exciting about Jamie she just can't resist.

Book Belong to MeThis is the sequel to de los Santos' book Love Walked In, which a few friends of mine have absolutely squeed over while making Good Book Noise. I've never read it, but getting the both for $14 takes the sting out of the first one being $12.99. (OUCH).

Everyone has secrets. Some we keep to protect ourselves, others we keep to protect those we love. A devoted city dweller, Cornelia Brown surprised no one more than herself when she was gripped by the sudden, inescapable desire to leave urban life behind and head for an idyllic suburb. Though she knows she and her beloved husband, Teo, have made the right move, she approaches her new life with trepidation and struggles to forge friendships in her new home. Cornelia's mettle is quickly tested by judgmental neighbor Piper Truitt.

Perfectly manicured, impeccably dressed, and possessing impossible standards, Piper is the embodiment of everything Cornelia feared she would find in suburbia. A saving grace soon appears in the form of Lake. Over a shared love of literature and old movies, Cornelia develops an instant bond with this warm yet elusive woman who has also recently arrived in town, ostensibly to send her perceptive and brilliant son, Dev, to a school for the gifted.

  1. Thanks for posting these deals! Julie James visited my RWA group last year so she’s been on my To Read list.

  2. Karen Frank says:

As much as I enjoyed “Love Walked In,” “Belong to Me” is such a great read that it has a place of honor on my “comfort books” shelf (next to Jennifer Crusie).  I grabbed the cheap ebook version so I can now also have a traveling copy.
And if I had Julie James’ books in paper instead of ebook, they’d be on that shelf too.  Great deals (even though I own both books already).

I agree! I absolutely loved “Belong to Me.” I actually haven’t read “Love Walked In.” I guess that will have to wait til I hit the used bookstore.

That Julie James book is fantastic! I hadn’t read anything of hers before, but she actually gets the prosecuting details right, including the relationships that a prosecutor develops with her officers. Normally this is my biggest pet peeve about lawyer books, but she does it *so* well that it’s clear she used to practice.
