Books on Sale: Last Call for Something About You, Plus A Giant Bundle, and a YA Romance

Book Something About You - Julie James

RECOMMENDED & LAST CALL. Something About You is $1.99 for a few more hours. This book was featured in our Save the Contemporary campaign when it came out. Plus, it WON the DABWAHA in 2011. If you like contemporary romance, you'll probably like this. James writes very smart characters who don't forget how to do their jobs when their pants become slightly horny, and her stories have emotional and sexual tension to spare. Just go buy it. It's $2!

Of all the hotel rooms rented by all the adulterous politicians in Chicago, female Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde had to choose the one next to 1308, where some hot-and-heavy lovemaking ends with a death. And of all the FBI agents in Illinois, it had to be Special Agent Jack Pallas who gets assigned to this high-profile homicide. The same Jack Pallas who still blames Cameron for a botched crackdown three years ago—and for nearly ruining his career.

Work with Cameron Lynde? Are they kidding? Maybe, Jack thinks, this is some kind of welcome-back prank after his stint away from Chicago. But it's no joke; the pair is going to have to put their rocky past behind them and focus on the case at hand. That is, if they can cut back on the razor-sharp jibes—and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension

Book The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

I bought this book when it was full price (darn it) after Jane and I talked about it in a podcast episode. She wasn't thrilled with it as a romance, but the reviews are hugely positive for this book both at retailers and Goodreads. Most reviews say it's got a surprising melancholy to it. I'm melancholy because I paid full price. Heh.

Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything? Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more? Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves.

Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

    Ergh, the description for Wounded

is just … icky to me.

  2. Katie Ann says:

@Laylapalooza: Really?  Ha, that summary is the one that intrigued me the most.

  3. Laylapalooza says:

Yeah, I’m worried there’d be maybe too much of an imperialist thrust (ahem) for my taste. I’m not sure those power dynamics are going to play out in an awesome way.

  4. Anne says:

I stumbled upon the 8 pk. of books for .99 earlier today and snapped it up.  Jana DeLeon is usually enjoyable and I’d expect the other 7 to be at least 3 out of 5 stars, so it’s worth the .99 chance.
