Hanukkah Extravaganzah, Part the Seventh!

A computer generated image of a menorah with a book in front of it. On the seventh night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches gave to me: more noooooooooooooook-(ee). (Note: not actual nooky.)

nook simple touch with glow light screenI'm giving away another  nook Simple Touch with Glow Light to one person chosen at random from the comments in this thread. Can you tell the theme of this year's Hanukkah Extravaganzah is Reading All the Things?

Just leave a comment saying what kind of cover you'd put on your nook, if you'd use a cover at all. (Naked nooks?! Oh my!)

Standard disclaimers apply:  I'm not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Must be 18 years of age and a friend of elastic-wasit pants. Open to international residents.

Other than something that will protect the screen, I don’t know. What will the cover reveal about myself, my likes, my reading? It’s like asking what kind of tattoo I want. Only not as permanent.

  2. Laylapalooza says:

Whatever collects the least cat hair.

  3. Jrb710 says:

I would get a neoprene Roocase cover. It is like bubble wrap on the inside and has saved me from breaking my old ereader countless times!

  4. Tiff S says:

Something cheap that does the job or an Adventure Time themed cover (if I could find one). Algebraic!

  5. Renny says:

I’d go for a cover that was purple or red or that looked like an actual book. (Wouldn’t it be neat if they had a cover with the stunning and vivid colours found in a peacock’s feathers?)

  6. HelenCoffman says:

    Leather.

  7. Phaenarete says:

I don’t know much about covers, since I’ve never had an eReader, so I’d be quite happy with a naked Nook. However, being 14 wks. pregnant, I will probably look ASAP at one of the stand-up models, as I’ll be looking forward to late-night insomnia sessions soon. It will, however, have to be purple, as all my most important accessories are. I’d also like to add that, since it is part of the contest, my belly is right now very much enjoying my elastic-waist pants. Thanks for such a great contest Sarah!

  8. Manda249 says:

I would get one that makes it stand up on its own.

  9. merideth says:

I would use the jonathan Adler question mark cover.  What I’m reading becomes a mystery only I know 🙂

  10. Gabrielle says:

I stopped reading at TARDIS – yeah, I want that!

  11. LisaJo885 says:

I’ve already got a Simple Touch, so I’d just transfer my lovely ampersand cover to the new reader. Maybe I’d dress it up a bit by gluing a romance novel cover onto the front. Something with Fabio perhaps?

  12. Rbkatg says:

I’d sew my own Bitchin’ cover

  13. Alice O'Bryan says:

I don’t really care what sort of cover it is as long as it’s green (to match my coffee mug, my scarf, my coat, my gloves, my kitchen, etc).

  14. ilexq says:

Something leather that would hold a notepad as well.

  15. Susan says:

I’d probably go au naturel but, if I did get a cover, it’d be green.

  16. Taylor P says:

No cover at first but then probably something easy to clean.

  17. April says:

If I won it I would give it to my brother as a birthday gift and let him pick whatever cover he wanted.

  18. I’ve seen some DIY covers made from paper books on Pinterest. I’d like something like that.

  19. Cs Elpl says:

I prefer my nook naked! But I will get one of those neoprene zip bags to hold it and the charger….

  20. KC says:

    Nothin’, baby!

  21. Baz Kay says:

My nook would live naked and free! Also, I’m just too cheap to bother with a cover. Yeah, there are nifty ones out there, really pretty ones, but even the cheapest one is too dear for me.

  22. a-reader says:

I would get one of those faux book cover covers. Love it!

  23. LaurenD says:

I would knit it a cozy to keep it safe in purse, but read it in all it’s naked glory!

  24. Aphasia says:

oooh naked all the way for me. Isn’t the whole point that no one can see what you’re reading without a cover ;)? Ok, half the point…

  25. Khanh Tran says:

My current Nook stays at home, so even though I have a nice cover for it, it’s never used. New nook would be naked, too.

  26. Raine says:

I would get a cover that makes it look like one of those really nice journals. A green one, because I like green! But the front would have to be able to fold back because I am one of those people that folds the covers back on their books.

  27. I would buy a hardcover case from Etsy, something colorful and cool. It would be a hell of a task to choose just one.

  28. infinitieh says:

Some bright color so that I’ll notice it wherever it’s at?

  29. I’d put a cloth cover I could wash I think. Things do get grubby being lugged around.

  30. Sally says:

I’m not sure what you meant by cover. Like cases? I prefer sleeves.

  31. hanne says:

I might be boring, but I’d get a plain black leather cover.

  32. Pumpkinsmurf says:

I would first find a skin that had a design I like on it.. Then get a case that would match the color.. I can’t stand fingerprints, I’m alittle OCD about that

  33. I would definitely buy a replica of the Neverending Story book cover, from Etsy. Like this! http://www.etsy.com/listing/74…

  34. Geri F says:

I’d buy it an OtterBox case, because I’m clumsy with my stuff. (I’ve dropped my Palm Pilot while reading e-books in bed more times than I care to count. Wrecked one that way, too.) OtterBoxes aren’t indestructible, but they’re definitely more abuse-resistant that a basic case (like the neoprene one Hubby has for his Nook).

  35. Rkgeorg says:

I’d get the Lyndon cover in crimson (for all those paranormal books!)

  36. I drool over those cute Kate Spade leather covers but i’d probably just slap a screen protector film on it and go.

  37. Jennyb says:

I’s put a pretty red cover, cause it’s Hanukkahmas!

  38. EmilyD says:

I’d definitely get a leather case. Or maybe whatever would offer the best protection as my kids can be dangerous to electronics.

  39. Kristin says:

    Naked Nooks rock!

  40. Lisa A says:

My Nook would be covered with B&N’s Seaton cover in red!
