Hanukkah Extravaganzah, Part the Seventh!

A computer generated image of a menorah with a book in front of it. On the seventh night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches gave to me: more noooooooooooooook-(ee). (Note: not actual nooky.)

nook simple touch with glow light screenI'm giving away another  nook Simple Touch with Glow Light to one person chosen at random from the comments in this thread. Can you tell the theme of this year's Hanukkah Extravaganzah is Reading All the Things?

Just leave a comment saying what kind of cover you'd put on your nook, if you'd use a cover at all. (Naked nooks?! Oh my!)

I’d want to find something that’s not too bulky, but creative.  I’d probably look on Etsy for something cool.  Maybe one that looks like a book?

  2. orchid7 says:

Something light and probably red. 🙂
And since I just got a $10 credit on a case website for a broken iPhone case, I’m ready to order that e-reader cover!

  3. Allmyjunk76 says:

My husband makes fun of me because all my gadgets have a cover.  It would definitely need to be read or unique.

  4. Lauren says:

ooo nook cover. I think something that made it look like a traditional book

  5. TessBrianna says:

I like to use fully protected cases that are safe enough to have in my purpose, but have a smaller insert inside that is light while reading. Very handy.

  6. Claudia says:

I like the cases with the author quotes. One to make me smile each time I go to read.

  7. Nat says:

One of those colorful Kate Spade covers 🙂

  8. Bibliophile says:

I would keep it nude for reading (or maybe get several skins in different styles), and dress it in a converted book cover for protection during transport. Alternatively, I’d keep it in a hollowed-out old book.

  9. Ekburi says:

I would get one of the really nice leather ones with celtic symbols on it

  10. kkw says:

I want one of those fancy covers from the gift list, but I’d go with a more affordable, sturdy cover.  Allow me to not recommend the neoprene sleeve kind, which provides no protection worth mentioning, hence my need for a new ereader.

  11. Blossom says:

I think I would use a sleeve or pouch for it.

  12. Copa says:

It’s naked nooke for me thanks

  13. Roarscribe says:

Something with a bold black & white graphic maybe from etsy

  14. Ashlandbaby says:

I’d get one of the covers that makes it look like a really old book. I do so love the look of really old books…

  15. Kasey says:

Something from Oberon Design. I love their leather covers. Probably something in purple.

  16. Alex K. says:

I would choose something as sturdy as possible, even if it’s not particularly pretty.

  17. KM says:

Neon. With bells and possible an alarm. I’d be giving this to my mother as I’m quite happy with my Kindle. She’s wonderful in innumerate ways but she has some kind of electronic device repelling superpower that means things of this nature go astray. Make a cover as unmissable as possible et voila!

  18. donna ann says:

    I’d go naked nookie 😉

  19. Amanda_Carlson says:

I’d go down to the local library book sale and pick out a nice looking and/or sentimental book … something special, but that I wouldn’t mind destroying. Then I’d make one of those amazing real book covers.

  20. chantalhab says:

Something waterproof so I can bring it in the bath with me. Do those exist?

  21. rebecca moe says:

Definitely not a nude Nook-ee. Too dangerous. I’d have to say I’d go with those ones from last week’s gift guide that look like “real” books. They were awesome. Since I didn’t have to pay for the Nook, I’d spring for a more pricey cover.

  22. Jane Peach says:

I’ve been coveting a tooled leather cover with a Van Gogh Starry Night scene on it in sky blue – so pretty.

  23. AH says:

I’d love a nice leather case for the nook. Maybe something that looks like a book.

  24. Mickie says:

I would get a leather cover but in a bright color like shocking pink or teal because I love bright colors and it would make it easy to find.

  25. Shevaun says:

I would have a naked nook. Very naked. I have tried to find a cover that works for me, but they all make it too bulky for my tiny purse.

  26. CharlotteV says:

    Discreet and classy.
Cuz I’m a classy bitch. Who reads. Smartly and… trashily?

  27. SuzyK says:

I would get an old, good-looking book and hollow it out for my nook-ey!!

Homemade nook covers are the bestest!!

  28. Gawood says:

I would keep it naked until I found the perfect green cover.

  29. Christinacollins81 says:

    Something pink

  30. Diatryma says:

Homemade.  Right now, I am loving this paisley from JoAnn’s that I’m making a tie out of for my dad.  And prepositions.

  31. Trix says:

I’d like something really luxurious and cuddly, maybe with a pair of googly Muppet eyes on it. Nook Monster!

  32. Julie B says:

Something purple or better yet a fancy-shmancy hardback look-a-like cover.

  33. Carrie C says:

Something bright and stylish, to combat this gloomy weather.

  34. Amp says:

Naked for reading…one of those water-proof zip bags for protection from toddlers

  35. Kael says:

I’m really liking the stuff over at Oberondesign; so pretty, yet so expensive.

  36. LuchaLori says:

I’m a reformed coverer and no longer use them!

  37. Amanda7980 says:

I would get one like the pink cover I have for my Kindle.  It’s leather and folds open like a book.  I find it easier to hold that way.

  38. Lauren says:

I would probably get the Emerson quote in kiwi. Of course, I really like the covers with the band to keep them closed as well…
