Hanukkah Extravaganzah, Part the Seventh!

A computer generated image of a menorah with a book in front of it. On the seventh night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches gave to me: more noooooooooooooook-(ee). (Note: not actual nooky.)

nook simple touch with glow light screenI'm giving away another  nook Simple Touch with Glow Light to one person chosen at random from the comments in this thread. Can you tell the theme of this year's Hanukkah Extravaganzah is Reading All the Things?

Just leave a comment saying what kind of cover you'd put on your nook, if you'd use a cover at all. (Naked nooks?! Oh my!)

I liked the library cover in iris, but if this really happened I’d look for an easel type cover.

  2. Diane/Anonym2857 says:

I’d go for bright, colorful and inexpensive—but sturdy enough to protect it if I bounced it, and hopefully with some sort of ‘stand/prop’ action so I wouldn’t have to hold it all the time.  I don’t want too much, do I?

  3. JaneDrew says:

There are these AMAZING covers for e-readers at Oberon leather… there are also some I’ve seen that look like medieval manuscripts. It would be a very hard decision between those two… aaaaand then I would take a deep breath and get a cheaper cover. And, um, spend the difference on e-books.

  4. Atunah says:

The one has that strap on the backside when folded back so I can put my hand in there. Much easier to hold a e-reader like that for me. Marware makes those.

  5. MarieC says:

There are some really cute Hello Kitty ereader covers that I’ve been eyeballing….

  6. Reneesance says:

Something obnoxiously bright that I could find in my purse.  Like lime green perhaps.

  7. Dannielle says:

I would get a textured skin to start out (it would minimize butter finger incidents). Then I would probably get/make/repurpose a slim bag or pouch to keep it in.

  8. Kim Wyant says:

I have no idea!  I don’t have an e-reader, so have no idea what kinds of covers are available!

  9. LisaLisa says:

I would probably buy the cheapest cover, not gonna to lie.

  10. Tina says:

I’m cheap, so my nook might very well go naked into the world 🙂

  11. I like sturdy covers. Ones that close like actual books and protect the screen when one of the cats walks across it.

  12. Miss Grumpy says:

Probably one that would make the nook look like an actual book 😉

  13. ridiculousspider says:

I would want a lime green cover for it.  Because lime green is such a bright, obnoxious color that it makes me happy.  And reading makes me happy.  So it would be a whole lotta happiness in one place.

  14. Roswita Hildebrandt says:

I actually would leave it naked. I like the feel of it in my hands. Smooooooth. 🙂

  15. BJ says:

Purple. Something purple. Beyond that, no details. But it would be purple 😉

  16. Beccah W. says:

I’d want it to look like an old book, hard-cover and cracked looking.

  17. I would knit, then perhaps felt a pouch, but use it naked!

  18. Jennifer M(OR) says:

My new Nook would be naked.

  19. Beth T. says:

I like pink and purple covers.  Because my e-reader would be much more vivacious than I am.

  20. Apx Rnr says:

It’s become a family joke that I’ll crochet anything. So I might see if I could do that

  21. Nan_N says:

I probably would not put a cover on it. I’m just to cheap to buy one.

  22. Nhill says:

I think I’d need something bright (hot pink!) and sturdy, since I’d live in fear of losing or dropping the Nook.

  23. Lizzie R says:

If I had an e-reader I’d probably let it go naked.

  24. Aarann says:

If I could find one, I’d put a TARDIS cover on it. Surely there has to be one out there somewhere…

  25. CK says:

It’s bigger on the inside 🙂 The Tardis cover. Best. Cover. EVAH!

  26. winnie says:

I think mine would remain a naked Nook.

  27. NTE says:

I don’t know: is there a Harry Potter cover?  I’d like it to look like “Hogwarts: A History”, if that’s possible.

  28. katherinelynn_04 says:

I am a fan of covers. It makes it easier to hold onto with one hand!  I think I would look into those tooled leather ones you posted as part of the Christmas gifts a few weeks ago.

  29. i was going to say “a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” but then I saw post #145… I WANT A TARDIS COVER!!!

  30. Deb G. says:

I like the skins by DecalGirl, but would probably eventually opt for something a wee bit sturdier to keep company with the gym shoes, papers, packed lunches, and random crap often found in my bag.

  31. Rebecca says:

I like the covers that protect the screen but allow you to hold the ereader with just one hand. I think I use the Safari covers, if I remember correctly!

  32. Colleen says:

Naked, but making a cover would sit on my to-do list

  33. EmilyAmy says:

Something sturdy to protect the NOOK. Maybe one with a birthday cake as today is my birthday.

  34. Janet S says:

I think a Fabio e-reader cover is in order.

  35. SaraLC says:

I would get one of the covers that are like a book – a sturdy one that would protect it in my purse.  I would go for a purple, green, or black cover, probably.

  36. Drosdelnoch says:

I’d get a nice leather cover with a protection charm, to make sure that my books stay safe from the Digi Demons/Gremlins.  LOL

  37. LSUReader says:

I’d want a purple cover…perhaps one with a tiger on it?

  38. Eleine says:

I like my covers cute and sturdy. Real cheap too. As much as I like the idea of a naked nook(y), I’m too paranoid not to make sure it’ll survive if I drop it.

  39. Lauren Clancy says:

Probably with something leatherlike since it would be a gift to my husband.

  40. Darlynne says:

Something that protects the screen. I stay awake nights worrying about all the touch screens out there and whether people have clean fingers. *must get life*
