Hanukkah Extravaganzah, Part the Seventh!

A computer generated image of a menorah with a book in front of it. On the seventh night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches gave to me: more noooooooooooooook-(ee). (Note: not actual nooky.)

nook simple touch with glow light screenI'm giving away another  nook Simple Touch with Glow Light to one person chosen at random from the comments in this thread. Can you tell the theme of this year's Hanukkah Extravaganzah is Reading All the Things?

Just leave a comment saying what kind of cover you'd put on your nook, if you'd use a cover at all. (Naked nooks?! Oh my!)

I like the ones that are

  2. Dena says:

My friend makes neat covers out of hardback notebooks – I’d ask her to make one for me.

  3. Katherine K says:

I would let my Nook be naked at home, and just put it in a sleeve of some sort for travel.

  4. Kimi says:

, I am not familiar with nook covers since I don’t own one, but maybe something in purple..

  5. Christina Alexander says:

I have an Oberon cover for my current NST. But, right now, I’m enjoying the DecalGirl decal on it sans cover.

  6. Lostshadows says:

    Either naked or black leather.

  7. Francesca K says:

Something red since that’s my favorite color – I’ve seen the ones with snaps on the edge that allows you to snap it close and then snap it open.  The cover doesn’t get in the way while you’re reading but it also protects it when you’re not reading.

  8. Cat R. R. says:

Something that would protect the heck out of it! I’m always scared of dropping anything with a screen. Must do research!

  9. Blodeuedd says:

I have to go cheap too, or anything really that I can find here in the northern woods

  10. Fairiechilde says:

I’d crochet a cover in dark purple for my nook.

  11. graniagrace says:

Anything from Oberon Leather.  Probably something celtic.

  12. Shopping for skins and covers is part of the fun of owning e-readers! Hmmm…probably a cover that looks like an old worn, well-loved book…and I love the skin that looks like old library shelves: http://www.amazon.com/Library-…. Nothing like modern convenience in a classic package. 😉

  13. Célia says:

    A classic black one 🙂

  14. Krista says:

An indestructible cover, because my toddler would test that claim. Oy.

  15. Sara says:

I’d get it a bright pink silicone one. Just like i bought for my grandmom’s nook!

  16. There’s an Alice in Wonderland cover out there that I like a lot, so maybe that one.

  17. Becca says:

I would get the red jumbled word cover.

  18. Davlyn says:

I love my Nook cover, it’s signed by my favorite authors !!

  19. Kellyn0812 says:

I like the ones that look like a book.

  20. They don’t make one for Nook, but I love the new Moleskine gadget covers: http://www.moleskine.com/news/

  21. DelDryden says:

A Skinit skin! My last one was sort of an inlaid-wood design, but this time I think I’d go with some really awesome Zentangle. Custom skins FTW!

  22. I go for discretion in book covers, but if I could duplicate my bedroom I would have a silk brocade cover with a touch of lace.

  23. Jenn B says:

I would want the cover of a Lorelei James book for the cover of my Nook. 🙂 Something sexy, so it is no doubt what I’m reading.

  24. Robin says:

Do they do ones with inspirational sayings?  If so, I would go with that.

  25. Terrie says:

I’m a quilter so I’d definitely hand sew.  A little linen and lace perhaps?

  26. Azucena Rodriguez says:

As long as it’s purple, I’m good 🙂

  27. Oberon Design The Avenue of Trees.  Or the Irises.  Or the sky dragon.

Oberon Design has the most amazing covers.  (I haven’t actually bought one, but if I won the device, I could afford one.

  28. Kathy Sullivan says:

Zebra or leopard print for the skin.

  29. Hm, I think something rainbowy would be good. I am a big rainbow fan! 🙂

  30. Lisa W says:

I would get some sort of sleeve to store it in when not reading on it.  I don’t like the extra bulk when reading with a cover that stays on.  I’m sure I could spend a few hours on Etsy and find a neat book related one 🙂

  31. Ann Marie F says:

I think I would get a colorful sleeve for my Nook so I could take it out to read it Naked. The Nook, not me. No one wants that!

  32. Jae_Lee says:

I prefer my reader out of a case when reading since covers can add a lot of weight, but I make my own sleeves out of hand-embroidered wool felt.

  33. Lebniyeh says:

I’m a fan of the Skin-Its. I would probably get some abstract design in purples and blues.

  34. Cheryl Mcinnis says:

I think I’d leave mine in his birthday suit 😉

  35. Vestusta says:

I love the waterproof, indestructible cover on my current (several years old) nook – so far it’s survived trips to Greece, Italy, and Canada!

  36. Lynda Hartup says:

One that I would make myself!

  37. Something slim, firm, easy to handle, doesn’t collapse under stress and pressure…are we still discussing covers?

  38. Karen H says:

It would probably be an obnoxious lime green leather cover.  That way I could find it easily in the bottom of my bag.

  39. Amy Schaffer says:

One of those covers that makes the nook look like an old leather-bound book.

  40. Carriez says:

Something pink and pretty. I’m all about my ereader looking good 🙂
