The Tracy Deebs Writes A Lot of Books Giveaway

Book Cover Last year, Tracy Deebs' Tempest Rising came out, and I liked it quite a bit -but it had a cliffhanger. OH NOES. So when she approached me about doing a giveaway, I was totally down with that, except for that hangy-cliff part. So I asked if we could wait until the sequel came out – and now that the sequel is out, it is big ol' bundle of book giveaway time up in here.

While folks like us read piles of book all year long, there's something to be said for the temptation of “summer reading.” I don't necessarily read more in the summer, but I do find myself with more time sitting outside, which is one of my favorite places to read. Since Tracy Deebs (who also writes as Tracy Wolff and Ivy Adams) writes a TON of different books, she's offered up three sets of books for giving away, so if you've got a patio chair and some time, there's plenty to choose from. For reals.

Plus, each of the three prize packs will include one of the following:

The newest book is the sequel to Tempest Rising, which is Tempest Unleashed. If you're curious about the series, Tempest is half-mermaid, and in the sequel, she has to choose between the sea, which is powerfully tempting to her, and land, where she was raised. She also has to figure out how to choose between her high school boyfriend, Mark, and Kona, a selkie prince. You know, like you do.

Standard disclaimers apply: Do not try this at home. Wear sunscreen. I'm not being compensated for this giveaway. I defy anyone to say “insertion fee” with a straight face, because my inner 10 year old cannot do it. Void where prohibited. Open to international residents. Must be 18 years of age or over and wearing chaps to win. All items come from a poke free home.

The comments will be open until 9:00 pm ET Thursday, 14 June 2012. To enter to win, please leave a comment and tell me which book you'd read first, or where you'd read it. Your choice! I'll select three winners at random, and there will be much reading for the winners. Good luck!

  1. Jaclyn Davidson says:

Hidden Embers looks sexy as pants! However, I am a pale chick that freckles and burns at the slightest bit of sun (I blame it on my red-headed daddy), so I will stay inside to read… in the AC and away from bugs, sand in bad places, and the devil sun.

  2. Abby says:

I would read any of them sitting outside in the sun near the pool – with lots of sunscreen on!

  3. Stephanie T says:

I’d read in bed, curled up after a long day, loosing myself in some awesome fiction.  And I’d probably start with the Tempest Rising 🙂

  4. Eands Woodruff says:

I’ll read Tempest Rising first.  I’ll read it on my back patio in the shade with the mister system helping to cool me off from the intense Phoenix heat while my kids play in the sprinklers.  Later in the evening, my kids will fall asleep quickly after having played in the sun, and I will crawl into bed and read some more.

  5. CrystalGB says:

I would choose Tempest Unleashed. Loved Tempest Rising.  I would read it on our new screened-in porch.

  6. I would read Tempest Rising by the pool!

  7. Heather Greye says:

Probably Tempest Rising (love those covers) or Hidden Embers.

If my deck would ever get finished, I’d read out there.

  8. Aralira says:

I’d read Tempest Rising. On the deck under an umbrella.

  9. Ladydespring says:

Tempest Rising. In the Ballroom. With a candlestick. 😉

  10. katherinelynn_04 says:

Tempest Rising. On a boat in the Traverse Bay. (That’s where I will be spending the first two weeks in July, watching dogs).

  11. Rachel Moss says:

Tempest Rising for me. I have no garden 🙁 so it will have to be on my sofa.

  12. Kael says:

I’m still, after all these years, a sucker for mermaids so Tempest Rising. In the comfort of my own home.

  13. cin says:

Tempest Rising looks like a book that both my daughter and I would enjoy.  We will be at the Jersey shore in a week and a half, so that it where the reading would take place.  On a beach chair, under an umbrella.  Mmmmm.  Can hardly wait.

  14. Bungluna says:

We’re going to the beach for two weeks in July and I’ve been hoarding books for our vacation.  Since I read about a book a day, I need all the books I can hoard to keep me satisfied!

  15. Kim says:

I’d probably start with one of the Harlequin Super Romances.

  16. Kelly says:

I would read Tempest Rising first, either by the pool at my parents or in the evening on my front porch. I just got new porch furniture so I have been enjoying reading out there after dinner.

  17. Essie says:

I would read any of them, but I’d probably start with Tempest Rising. It is beautiful and sunny where I am, so this would be a wonderful birthday present to me to read on the back patio 🙂

  18. MaddBookish says:

Tempest Rising. I have such a thing for mermaids. I desperately wanted to be one as a child.

  19. BookcaseTanya says:

I would have to start with Tempest Rising and I would read it on the front porch in the rocker with an ice tea.

  20. Jules says:

We have a HUGE maple tree next to our house. I would pull out a picnic blanket, grab a large glass of lemonade and just spend hours reading there… like I did on Sunday 🙂

  21. azteclady says:

Reading first: Well, I was going to say Hidden Embers until I realized it’s not the first in that series *sigh* so I guess I’ll go for where I prefer to read: in bed, under the ceiling fan. It’s summer, it’s Florida.

  22. megsan says:

Either Tempest Rising or the Kissing Club and it would be read by the pool on a comfy deck chair after a leisurely swim – best way to dry off 🙂

  23. Rebe says:

Hidden Embers sounds interesting to me! I’d probably end up reading it in bed, but I’ll imagine that I’m on a beach with a fruity alcoholic beverage and a cabana boy.

  24. Jamarleo says:

They all sound like neccessary beach reads, but isn’t Tempest Rising the one with the half selkie woman who meets a vampire?  Are these re-releases?

  25. Vicki says:

It would totally be From the Beginning because I love lady doctor stories (being one myself) plus the estranged, once married couple, plus the potential tear-jerking of the lost child. Oh, yeah, baby. Sounds like a summer read to me.

  26. Melissandre says:

I love me some paranormal (good paranormal), so I would have to start with Tempest Rising.  The ad for Tempest Unleashed was intriguing, even without the giveaway.  I’d love to say I’d read in in an appropriate setting, like a beach.  Unfortunately, since I broke my foot last week, I’ll probably read it sitting on my couch with my foot propped up, riding a hydrocodone buzz.

  27. DreadPirateRachel says:

I’d start with Tempest Rising. The beaches in Oregon are a little too cold and windy for comfortable reading, so I’d rent a beach house and have a reading marathon weekend all to myself. You think I wouldn’t? I so would.

  28. StarOpal says:

Hidden Embers sounds right up my alley. Where? Either curled up on the couch, or next to my brother’s pool.

  29. Sveta says:

I’d probably try to read Tempest series in a library. (I live in Dallas Texas, can’t afford a vacation to go anywhere, and library is a cool place during summer…)

  30. Nicolette says:

I’d read Tempest Rising first.  I’m in the mood for a good paranormal story.  I’d read it curled up on the couch with my cats, if it’s raining like today, or out on the splendid deck that came with the house we just bought.  Lots of shade beneath some mature trees and possibly a glass of homemade lemonade close to hand.

  31. crystalfulcher says:

I would read Tempest Rising first and I would read it while lounging out on the boat one weekend which is my favorite place to read outside during the summer.

  32. henofthewoods says:

Chelsea waterside park for the location – this park is absolutely beautiful (interesting art, good plantings, pockets of useful space in the park including a carousel), the breezes are plentiful, and the boats on the Hudson river are a perfect backdrop for summer comfort reading.

  33. Justine says:

I am now going to use “insertion fee” somewhere, somehow.

Do I need to wear sunscreen AND chaps at the same time? OMG, life is SO HARD, y’all.

I’m not sure which book I’d read first, but I’d read it on my back porch. I don’t sit outside enough.

  34. PattiR says:

Hmmm…how to choose!?  I think I would start with the Tempest series.  I have never read about mermaids, other than, you know, the Little Mermaid.  I think it would be a very interesting book.  Oh and the place I would read, well, everywhere, but most likely the pool.  🙂

  35. EvelynS says:

I’d read Tempest Rising first. My kids just started summer school so I have plenty of time to relax and catch up on my reading!

  36. Jennifer in GA says:

Tempest Rising. Mermaids are the new vampires/werewolves/zombies!!! 😉

  37. Blodeuedd1 says:

Tempest rising on my balcony 😀 And of course it gotta be warm and calm

  38. Ames says:

I would read Tempest Rising first (I’d probably read it in my room).  Thank you for this awesome giveaway!

  39. sharivan says:

I’d read at a park by the water.

  40. Beggar1015 says:

I’d read at work. Especially one with a muscular man on the cover. Then I would badger the men I work with, “Why don’t you look like this?” because I am cruel.
