We have a silly crazy giveaway today to celebrate the upcoming release of Jeaniene Frost's Once Burned ( A | BN | K | S ). Because Once Burned features a heroine who can channel electricity, and a vampire hero who can control fire, we're giving away FIRE. Specifically, a fire pit!
Cue me saying, 'FIRE! FIRE!' Also “YES, I WANT S'MORES.”
Alas, no smores or fire for me, but s'mores and fire for you!
The Grand Prize is a 40″ fire pit with a copper fire bowl, a removable screen, and a mosaic tile rim. It's about 65 pounds, it's very pretty, and if you throw some wood in it, you can make s'mores.
S'mores are indeed included, too. The grand prize winner will also receive a gourmet s'mores kit from Recchiuti Confections that includes vanilla marshmallows, bittersweet chocolate and graham crackers.
And since you'll be stuffed from eating s'mores and keeping your feet warm, you can read books! Jeaniene Frost's backlist is part of the prize. The winner will also receive a copy of Once Burned, plus:
- HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE
- ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE
- AT GRAVE’S END
- DESTINED FOR AN EARLY GRAVE
- THIS SIDE OF THE GRAVE
- ONE GRAVE AT A TIME
- FIRST DROP OF CRIMSON
- ETERNAL KISS OF DARKNESS
One lucky runner up will win Eternal Kiss of Darkness and First Drop of Crimson, and a Recchiuti s'mores kit.
What to enter? Craving s'mores (I so am, holy smoke)? All you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite thing to cook outside, whether it's on the grill, over an open fire, in the bug zapper or inside the hot engine of your car. The grand prize and the runner up will be chosen at random from the comments.
Standard disclaimers apply: Must be over 18 and wearing long pants to win. Void where prohibited. This giveaway is open to international residents, but please note: the firepit is only shippable within the contiguous US, so the firepit giveaway is open to US residents only. However, if a winner from outside the US is chosen, he or she is eligible for an American Express giftcard for an amount equal to the price of the firepit ($300US). I'm not being compensated for this giveaway by Avon or by the Federation of Awesome S'mores. I like s'mores. Any disclaimer issued by me is subject to silliness without notice.
So, let's get fire cooking! You've got 24 hours to tell me what you like to cook outside. Good luck!

I am a s’mores fanatic but I like to skip the chocolate bar and use a reese’s cup instead. Your mind will be blown!
Love to cook steak on the grill, but grilling veggies is a favorite, too.
Im not a big outdoor eater. Too many bugs and such. I do however cook myself in the sun. Grease lightly, direct heat on each side for 30 minutes, rest, then enjoy. 😉
I do a bacon-wrapped jalapeño-stuffed cabbage! We like it hot around here. If the burn doesn’t cause you to sweat, eyes well with tears and nose run—then it isn’t hot enough!!!!
I won’t eat it anymore because I’m a vegetarian, but back in my Camp Fire days it was something we called “Cannibal Stew.” It was Kraft Macaroni & Cheese with tomato soup. I suppose I still could make it without the hot dogs, if I wanted.
Thanks for the great giveaway!
Brats, with scalloped potatoes and smores for dessert!
Brats, scalloped potatoes, and smore’s for dessert! Yum!
Steak. Definitely steak. YUUUUMMM!!
Love to cook “tator tots” on the grill (on cookie sheet). I drizzle with them with olive oil, sea salt, and ground black pepper. It’s healthier than frying in vegetable oil and much tastier!!
Ribs and potatoes in the smoker!
Grilled chickhen and vegetables is my favorite summer dinner.
marshmallows over an open fire – the more burnt the better.
The new fave around our house is PB s’mores. replace the chocolate bar with a Reese’s peanut butter cup. They’re fantastic
I love roasting pork over a charcoal grill. It gives it a lovely smoky flavor that’s like nothing else. Juicy meat with a dash of saltiness… Yum!
Pizza pockets, hands down my favorite thing to cook outside.
Hmm… barbecue! Really any style, just… barbecue. *g*
Of course, toasted marshmallows and S’mores are also awesome.
I’m not much of a cook, but grilling steaks is something I enjoy.
I’m going to have to go with Hot Dogs. There is nothing like a good grilled hot dog in the summer 🙂
Vegetarian sausages! Although I just saw a spread in a magazine I subscribe to on grilled pizzas that I may need to try soon…
It’s more like what *don’t* I cook outside, but my specialty is smoked pork shoulder.
oh wow, i wish i could win the firepit! but we live in nz right now. my favorite thing to grill is grilled caesar salad. grill halved romaine heads and bread that have been brushed with olive oil and then serve with home made dressing. so delicious!
I’m a purist.. a nice, thick juicy steak is the best thing I can think of being grilled. Pair some packet potatoes with it, and maybe some asparagus steamed in foil as well, and I’m one happy girl! 🙂
I really love cooking marshmallows over a campfire! I even know how to cook an egg and bacon. I am truly ready for the zombie apocalypse!
Cheeseburgers. Nothing beats cheeseburgers in the summer XD
Everything! Hotdogs, steak, s’mores, corn on the cob, squash!
Grilled steak seasoned with garlic, salt and pepper, and a bit of olive oil..side of some asparagus tossed in the same mixture. Grilled peaches for dessert. I just described my favorite dinner!
Summer vegetables drizzled with olive oil and with fresh rosemary thrown on top for a little extra flavor. Or pizza. Man, nothing beats pizza grilled on a barbeque.
Burgers and steaks with chimichurri sauce!
Hot Dogs. I rarely eat them but when I do it has to be cooked on a bbq.
My husband may be counting the months he has to live, but that means he is ready to finally get his dream for outdoor cooking, a Big Green Egg. (Google it. Really.)
I like anything he smokes or grills. Smoked fish. Grilled nectarines. Smoked turkey for Thanksgiving – and as someone who never used to like turkey, that is saying something.
Paneer tikka and veggie kababs. Mmm.
My favorite is pork chops on the gas grill. It took me a bit of practice to figure out how long to cook them so that they were done but not dry. And with a little raspberry-chipotle sauce, they are really yummy.
Grilling cubobs! Mmmm steak, chicken, shrimp, pineapple, mushrooms…..
Asparagus with a little bit of olive oil on a grill or burnt marshmellows over a fire. Either works for me.
Oh I love hambergers and hotdogs on the grill and vegetable kabobs !
Steak kabobs. Mmmmmm… kabobs.
Mmmm, I love the smell of wood smoke, especially when it’s flavoring grilled glazed corn on the cob.
My hubby makes the best baby potatoes smothered in butter and garlic on the BBQ.
S’mores!! so good.
Wieners!!
