I have a fun and funky giveaway today, so get ready!
Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series has a new book, Under a Vampire Moon ( A | BN | K | S ), and Avon has offered some very fun prizes for you.
Because Under a Vampire Moon is partly about travel to exotic locales (in this case, St. Lucia), the prize is travel and beach themed, and I think the grand prize is really spiffy.
The grand prize is a Baggallini rolling tote bag in steel blue with green trim, stuffed with all of Lynsay Sands' Argeneau books, including:
- A QUICK BITE
- LOVE BITES
- SINGLE WHITE VAMPIRE
- TALL, DARK, AND HUNGRY
- A BITE TO REMEMBER
- BITE ME IF YOU CAN
- THE ACCIDENTAL VAMPIRE
- VAMPIRES ARE FOREVER
- VAMPIRE INTERRUPTED
- THE ROGUE HUNTER
- THE IMMORTAL HUNTER
- THE RENEGADE HUNTER
- BORN TO BITE
- HUNGRY FOR YOU
- THE RELUCTANT VAMPIRE
- UNDER A VAMPIRE MOON
There are also five runner-up prizes: a copy of Under a Vampire Moon and a Lynsay Sands beach ball.
Since I am all about the beach, here's the really tough and difficult question you have to answer: which beach do you think is best for reading? What's the best beach you've ever visited? Share – and we'll all have summer-beach envy together.
The contest will be open from today (24 April) through noon eastern on 1 May. I'll select the winners at random from the comments.
Standard disclaimers apply: I'm not being compensated for this giveaway, not even with spiffy luggage. Void where prohibited. Must be over 18 and wearing a hula skirt (but not a coconut bra – those things look itchy) to win. This giveaway is open to international residents (yay!). Clothing that is itchy is hereby outlawed in my immediate jurisdiction. Action figures and margaritas sold separately.
So, tell me: what beach do you think is the best for reading and relaxing? If you could visit a beach anywhere in the world with a book and no time limit, which would it be?

I’ve been to the beaches in FL, GA, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Greece, Barbados and Bahamas. I will say that of all those beaches I prefer the beaches on Little Cayman, Cayman Islands. It’s quiet and somewhat remote. Perfect for whether you want a little alone time or whether you want to have a picnic (or BBQ) and have your family frolicking in the water while you keep a lazy eye on them over the top of your favourite read.
Any beach where I can lie and read and listen to the water sounds heavenly. But a warm island, with a cool breeze would be perfect. I’m not picky as to which one =-)
Best beach for reading: My grandmother’s lake side cabin in Omena Michigan, sooooo amazing. Best beach I’ve ever visited was in Cozumel Mexico, great scuba and snorkeling!
Yay for International! (Do I get bonus points for being Canadian? lol)
I’ll start with the worst beach, Cavendish PEI, Brr it was so cold! But I will admit, beautiful.
The best? The Botanical Gardens in Cozumel Mexico, I spent a day on my honeymoon there. It was beautiful. The sand was white and baby soft, the water beautiful. I could just lie there and read forever. Downside, I was preggo and alas those pineapple drinks were a non-no, but I will return and one of these pineapple things will be mine.
Close second? Virginia Beach, a hotel right on the water, waking up to watch the dophins play, it was magical.
I loved my trip to the North Shore of Oahu. I read in the shade with a piña colada. I was in heaven.
The best beach for reading is Hawaii’s Waikiki. But every beach in Hawaii is made for reading. 😉
