Halfway to the Grave with Bonus Materials - and a Digital Reader

Book CoverAccording to Jeaniene Frost, our review of Halfway to the Grave was the first review for her 2007 debut novel. I still remember Hubby picking the book up off the dining room table and asking me what it was – the cover is still very striking, and I believe the same model has been used for the series.

This week, starting today, actually, Halfway to the Grave is on sale for $1.99 as an ebook, along with bonus materials like deleted scenes and excerpts of the new book. There’s never-before-published scenes, the first four chapters of One Foot in the Grave, and two additional excerpts as well. Seriously. Bonus Materials, this ebook has them.

The sale price is valid today until 25 October, so you’ve got plenty of opportunity to buy, gift, and nag folks if you really liked this book (I did). You can get the sale price at Amazon Kindle, Kobo, and BN.com.

So, to celebrate the sale, Jeaniene wants to give away a digital reader here, where her first review was posted. So we’re going back to 2007!

Just kidding. Up for winning is one digital book reading device, either a Kindle, a nook or a Sony – winner’s choice. This contest is open to anyone worldwide where permitted, but it is the winner’s responsibility to make sure the device selected will work in their location.

You could win:

hm… halfway to the grave extras? well, most definitely books, coffee, and liquor, but then also probably that really good-looking guy i’ve been eyeing for a while but never quite got up the nerve to make a blatant pass at… for you know cuddles ;D

  2. Christie L. says:

    Diet Coke and some carmex.

  3. Samantha says:

What more could a girl want to bring halfway to the grave than a Non-perishing, witty, fun loving fella, whose Pyrokinesis isn’t the only thing that can keep your body temperature boiling, -if you know what I mean- Tall, Dark and a top notch Cuddler (even Cat would be able to agree to that one) Vlad is Definitely all I need to take with me!

  4. Sarah A-B says:

Earplugs and my Droid (which for now doubles as my e-reader).  Why you ask?  Cause I’m an overworked new mom and if I’m half-way to the grave, it may mean that I have a few minutes of silence to myself which I’d like to enjoy by reading something that doesn’t involve rhyming, my job, or some parenting book which only adds to my mommy-guilt.

Of course if I have the earplugs, I may not hear the vampires and werewolves coming for me…then again I’ve read they’re really lonely souls in desperate need of love and understanding.  So I should be ok 😉

  5. Bekah says:

Bones…I’m taking Bones with me. Everywhere and anywhere I go.

  6. Olivia Knott says:

An iPad, it’s an e-reader and mini laptop all in one.

  7. Nicole says:

Hmm. I guess my bonus materials would be a good bottle of wine, my comfiest pair of flannel pyjamas, an ereader loaded with my favorite books,  and a batch of rice crispie treats. Oh, and a tube of my beloved MAC Ruby Woo lipstick.

  8. Sycorax says:

Tea, chocolate and a good book.

  9. peggy h says:

I would bring my Kindle and Sony reader!  (And so if I’m lucky enough to win, I would request a Nook to complete my ereader trifecta!)

  10. Rhonda B says:

I’d need GOOD coffee, an ereader (fully stocked).Lastly JZB cause that alpha male would make sure to meet ALL my …ahem OTHER NEEDS…….

  11. Reneesance says:

Hmmm.  I’m going to go with my gut and say tiny crossbow and a french press full of coffee.  Sweet delicious coffee, it goes everywhere!

  12. library addict says:

    Diet Coke and comfy shoes.

  13. Milena says:

My HTC, which doubles as portable computer and a library. Also, my older cat—despite having a dog and another cat to choose from, she’s the one I can rely on to turn any supernatural being into stone just by a disdainful look. Also, she likes to cuddle, and she’s warm, so it’s really a weapon-cum-blanket combo, unbeatble. And, since we both love it, cheese. Lots and lots of cheese.

  14. Sabrina says:

A Kindle if I had one 😉  Otherwise….my books!! Plus my ipod, coffee, bananas and almond butter. 🙂

  15. Jill B says:

I would have to take a loaded ereader and a magically endless supply of chocolate and iced coffee. Done.

  16. Hydecat says:

An mp3 player with a kick-ass soundtrack and a sturdy swiss army knife.

  17. Rachel S says:

I’d have to bring a pair of knitted socks, my iPhone full of books and some Jolly Ranchers.

And probably a box of Franzia!

  18. Carla says:

I definitely have to bring my fuzzy toe socks!

  19. Brandy says:

My bonus materials would have to be my ereader and endless sweet iced tea.

  20. rissatoo says:

*sigh*  I’d written up a cute entry with 3 bonus features I’d need, complete with humorous reasons why on each one, went to enter the security word, and my durn iPhone had a fit & threw me back to the beginning – and yes, losing my answer. Since I’m typing this with my thumb on the frakkin iPhone, I have to change my answers. No longer is it: 1) coffee – to keep me sane, 2) iPhone – for reading/games/friends, and 3) Merlin – the love cat… Nope! #2 is now an iPad. I figure typing’s gotta be easier w/ the bigger format, right?
Thank god I remembered ‘select all’, ‘copy’, and ‘paste’ this time… THREE times it happened!
    *double sigh*

  21. Beth says:

The essentials: a bottle of water, a package of Fig Newtons, and a cardigan sweater.

  22. Marjorie C says:

My best pair of kick ass boots – pillows and tons and tons of batteries (for all my toys)

  23. Diet Coke, a large bunch of grapes, my Kindle and Vin Diesel. That would cover all my needs.

  24. Jacqueline C. says:

I’m taking my iPhone, my ereader, and various flavors of gelato.

  25. My iPhone for obvious reasons and my Bersa .40 automatic with a whole bunch of extra clips, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. I’d also pack my Kindle, just in case I had time to read.

  26. Adrian says:

Books to read, a warm blanket to snuggle under and a phone to talk to loved ones with. 🙂

husband44 – OMG! Hilarious, because my dear hubby is 44! Maybe it’s a sign that I shouldn’t have left him off the list!

my ipod with my 10,000 + library!

  40. Anna M-N says:
