Time again for the best sellers list from Dear Author and Smart Bitches for 10 April – 10 May 2011. As with last week’s list, we used our affiliate links, which reward the blog owner with 6-8% of the sale price for each item sold, to compile the list. I use affiliate links for both All Romance eBooks and Amazon, and Harlequin when reviewing a Harlequin novel. DearAuthor uses affiliate links for Amazon alone.
So here is this week’s list. It doesn’t capture every sale out there or every sale that we might inspire, but it is a data point that might provide some interest to our readers and might help in discovering new and good books.
- 1. Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean
- 2. Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart by Sarah MacLean
- 3. Breaking Point by Pamela Clare
- 4. Dead By Morning by Beverly Barton
- 5. Collision Course by Zoe Archer
- 6. According to Luke (Gospel of Love 1) by Jackie Barbosa
- 7. Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
- 8. Captive Bride by Bonnie Dee
- 9. The Wind and the Sea by Marsha Canham
- 10. Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh
So, what books did you buy this week that you loved? Were any of them on the list? (And yes, we are still trying to finalize a name for our list – Jane resists my efforts. Can you IMAGINE?!) (Heh).
The A-List!
(A being for affiliate, of course.)
There’s always the DABAList. Heh.
I read and loved both 11 Scandals and Dragon Bound (Nine Rules has already been on my keeper shelf for a few years now!).
Purchased and read Nine Rules this past week. Purchased 10 and 11 as well but haven’t gotten there yet. I’m enjoying this list – whatever you decide to call it! Thanks!
From a recommendation in the GS vs STA: Special Forces Heroes thread, I bought and loved SEALed with a Kiss. The first few pages were a little bit of a slow start but once it got going, I could not put it down. I read until 6 am.
I’d already read Nine Rules earlier in the month after clicking through the add.
I’m helping Sarah MacLean stay on top because I bought Eleven Scandals. I’m only five chapters in, but I’m enjoying it fairly well so far. I have to admit, I overdosed on Regency a year ago and haven’t quite rebounded enough to buy any more. Maybe it will jump start me and help me slip back into Regencies again.
I finished Mary Kay Andrews’ Savannah Breeze and loved how summery it made me feel. And it’s LOL funny at times. I’m also eyeing vintage funiture in a whole new way. Think she’s a good read for summer for those who still like Chick Lit.
I’m heading to the beach in a few weeks, so I’m really interested to see what others suggest.
I bought” Eleven Scandals” at a romance event a few weeks back. After seeing the author talk, I decided to buy the first two books and read the series in order. I started “Nine Rules to Break” this weekend (I stayed up way too late last night reading it: *yawn*) and I’m really enjoying it so far.
It’s amazing (and annoyingly egocentric) how protective I feel of books I’ve reviewed! I hope I steered some people toward Collision Course at it was made of win.
Whatever happened to posting the ads once a month? Did I miss that?
NEW NALINI SINGH!!!!!
Excuse me, I suddenly feel happier than 15 minutes ago. Especially since the new Ilona Andrews is out on the same day.
Actually, I just wanted to exclaim on having a book that is not yet available already outselling other books. Maybe I want to know, how far in advance will you buy a book? I can buy one that is out later in the same week, but May 31st is still far enough away to make me want to wait.
Even though I know I will buy both eventually.
I have just been tinkering with my wish list until my next pay check – no purchasing yet.
I picked up “Bitten” by Kelley Armstrong on y’alls recommendation and found it pretty groovylicious. 🙂
I just finished Sarah MacLean’s series and loved it!! I’m really hoping for spin offs of some of her secondary characters- they were just as intriguing as her principals. Excellent books, all of them!
I bought the “10 Ways to be Adored” Sarah MacLean book, and I can already tell I’m going to love it by the first chapter which I skimmed in the bookstore.
I didn’t do any shopping this week, but I did find that a consortium of local libraries here in The Valley of the Sun, Az have banded together to lend books digitally online. Linky
I’ve already gotten thru two of KMM’s Highlanders, a staple in my house. Yay free audio!
