Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah, we’re rocking out for the second night of Hanukkah!
To continue the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a collection of historical romance with some historical fiction mixed in.
All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.
Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Jewish people eat jelly donuts, known as sufganiyot, on Hanukkah, which is stone cold awesome. Double knots are best for tennis shoes.
Ahoy! Contest the second!
On the Second Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A massive selection of historical romance!
Just leave a comment below, and tell me which one you’d read first, or which one you’d give as a gift, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have not yet eaten enough sweet potato latkes.
Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord is by far the cheekiest title so I pick that one.
I would pick Midnight-Jenkins; my library seems to have lost their copy and I need to read it.
I do believe I would begin with the Eloisa James book and go from there (I love Eloisa James). But honestly, how can you expect me to chose? It is too cruel 🙂
I think next I would dive into 10 ways to be adored, cause it just sounds wonderful.
I think I’d like to give Caroline Linden a try. P:-)
I found (1) copy of Emily and the Dark Angel in the SF public library back in the early 2000s, and haven’t been able to find a copy since! Definitely it would be first…although Beverly Jenkins looks interesting and probably be second.
So hard to pick! I would probably start with the Eloise James. I haven’t been able to find her books in our tiny little town. Although, the pirate one looks intriguing too.
I’d read The Devil Wears Plaid first because a) awesome name and b) I have a thing for the Scotts. 😉
I’d start with a Pirate’s Possession first. Had a dream about pirates last night. Must mean something, right?
Michelle Beattie, Pirate’s Possesion ~~ because, well, wow, that’s a sexy cover!! And I haven’t read a good pirate book in a long time.
Happy Hanukkah!
I like Jo Beverly, Beverly Jenkins and Eloisa James, but I would most likely fall for A Kiss at Midnight first
Oh, and if I get these they would all go visit my cousin first, she’s just as big as a romance reader as me, and then maybe some of them would go traveling as bookcrossing books. I might keep some favorites, but most likely, I would share them with others.
Rules of Engagement… I love the cover… a parasol in bed? Probably not conducive to good lovin’ but pretty effective as a piece of lingerie.
I would have to start with “The Devil Wears Plaid” as I admit to having a weakness for plaid. But the Eloisa James looks pretty good too…
I would pick Seven Nights to Forever because I read the sample on my Kindle and was very intrigued.
I’d read The Devil Wears Plaid. It’s been on my “To Buy” list for so long…just haven’t had the time to buy or read!
Seven Nights to Forever definitely. But they all look great 🙂
I am excited to read them all, so I would read whichever book I pulled put of the box first!
I would read Seven Nights to Forever by Evangeline Collins because I read the review done by Smart Bitches Trashy Books last month and it sounds like a more interesting, less pleather version of Pretty Woman.
What a great collection! The one I’d read first would be “Rules of Engagement.
I would read ‘rules of an engagement’ first, because that cover with her peeking over the parasol is just TOO CUTE!
I’d read 10 Ways To Be Adored When Loving A Lord first. I’ve recently discovered Sarah MacLean and adore her books.
I’d probably read A Kiss At Midnight first, because I love me some Eloisa James, and that’s an awesome cover.
I’d give half to my sister, who just yesterday asked me to recommend some books/authors to her (I had to stop myself eventually, or I’d still be replying to the email). Then we could trade back for the other half and pass them around to our other sisters.
I am all about the pirates, the pirate on that cover can possess me anytime.
Holy hotness, batman!
I’d read “The Devil Wears Plaid” first. I love me a Scottish laird!
I’d probably read the Teresa Medeiros first, since that one has been on my wish list for awhile. I already have the Eloisa James, so I’d probably give that one as a gift, or better yet, donate it to my local library.
almost52 – crap! yes…
I’d start with Seven Nights to Forever and give a friend A Kiss at Midnight. I enjoyed that book.
Hard choice (ha) but I think I’d have to jump on A Pirate’s Posession first because I do love me some pirates. The Devil Wears Plaid would be second because I love Scottish heroes almost as much as I love pirates.
Purely for the winning phrase, organzasm, I would definitely read Seven Nights to Forever first. And give away The Devil Wears Plaid to a friend who went to Scotland recently to find a man to have her merry way with.
So if we use abdominal definition as a rating system, and A Pirate’s Posession has an 8-pack, then that would make it the highest ranking book. Yeah, I’ll go with that one.
I’d have to read “Pirate’s Possession” first, and after I read the books, I would lend them all to my sister, who loves romance novels at least as much as me!
Seven nights first! But they all look good.
I would read Kaki Warner first; not sure which one I would give away.
You only love once… That sounds about right. I love historical romances. Who am I kidding I love all books.
I’d read the Jo Beverly first.
OH, GOD, how is one supposed to pick?! I don’t know which one I’d read first; except that I already have the Teresa Medeiros, so I’d probably stuff that one into either my mom’s or my sister’s stocking. They both share my taste in romance (coming from different directions, as Mom hates to admit it and avoids the paranormal like the plague, while my sis wears it proudly and reads Very Nearly Everything that I do…)
The Devil Wears Plaid is my choice.
His Christmas Pleasure – how could I not start with that title? And then I’d still have time to pass it along and share the Christmas Love.
Devil Wears Plaid is first then a Kiss At Midnight. Whoa this is a hugely sumptuous pack! Thank you ladies for spreading the joy.
I am going for outrageously yours as my first choice, then a dude of sailor on plaid. Ohhhhh the choices look so good. Perfect reading stack got this raining weather here.
Hmm. So many choices!
I’m drooling over the selection. (I can’t believe my eyes)
I’m a sucker for historical romances too. I think, my first pick would be A Kiss at Midnight. I admit, I checked out the Amazon pages for the covers that struck my fancy the most, and if I don’t win the book… well, I’m about to order half of these anyways. (but I’ve got my fingers crossed to win.)
As far as gifting goes… I’d gift You Only Love Once to one of my gal pals because she cannot get enough of Spy Stories.
Happy Holidays. 🙂
