Smart Bitches Hanukkah Festival Giveaway: Part Two!

imageHanukkah, oh Hanukkah, we’re rocking out for the second night of Hanukkah!

To continue the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a collection of historical romance with some historical fiction mixed in.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.

Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Jewish people eat jelly donuts, known as sufganiyot, on Hanukkah, which is stone cold awesome. Double knots are best for tennis shoes.

Ahoy! Contest the second!

On the Second Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A massive selection of historical romance!

Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have not yet eaten enough sweet potato latkes.

Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

I would give away Eloisa James’ book; it’s excellent. I truly enjoyed it.

I would read “Rules of Engagement” first. After all, I love Suzanne Enoch’s books!

  2. srs says:

I read historicals pretty much exclusively, so this is the prize for me! Idon’t know where I’d start (so much to choose from) but I’d give Eloisa Jame’s A Kiss at Midnight to a good friend who is a huge fan.

  3. Elizabeth Krentz-Wee says:

What a wonderful collection of books! Though I read fantasy, historical romance was my first—and is what I always go back to, when I get tired of fantasy and steampunk and science fiction. I’d read the Theresa Medieros first, and give Kiss at Midnight to my future daughter-in-law.

  4. Oh how I love historical romance! I think I would read the Eloisa James first, only because I’ve been on the wait list at the library for AGES and it still hasn’t come in. I won’t be giving any of these as gifts because I’m selfish like that. 🙂

I will however be submitting them to trade on PBS once I’ve read them. At least those that don’t end up on my keeper shelf, er…keeper bookcase. 🙂

  5. loretta lindi says:

I have read books from a lot of the authors and could not pick a favorite.  I love most books with a romance theme (my library keeps getting bigger)  so I do not have a fav.  love your website. Have a happy holiday season to all, no mater how you celebrate be with the ones you love.

  6. Avrelia says:

I think I would go first for Teresa Medeiros. And Eloisa James would be my second choice – I’d love to know what the lady on the cover is running from. I know I will be disappointed, but I hope it is a giant were-squid.

  7. Bri says:

its a toss up between The Deveil Wears Plaid and Seven Nights to Forever.  I read both reviews and they sound psotively delicious. and none of the libraries near me are planning to order them soon.  and i am on a strict (read: none) book buying budget.

But i think i would have to go with Seven Nights.  The story just seemed to pull at heart strings.  and I love the books where the relationship burns white hot and develops over a short period fo time

  8. headgirl says:

The first out the box – I am currently off work with depression and Romance reading eases my mind and your blog makes me laugh.  Thank you.

  9. Deb says:

Pardon me while I wipe the drool off my chin at the thought of winning…

Okay, now what was it I was supposed to do?

    Oh, yes.  Comment.

    Commenty comment here.

checkword:  reading 43 – not quite 43 titles in the pile but close!

  10. Midknyt says:

Historicals are my favorite of all the Romances, so this would be amazing.

I’d read His Christmas Pleasure first, since it’s the Holiday season and all, though A Pirate’s Possession’s abs are tempting as well.

  11. Jennifer U says:

Everyone of those is on my list to buy once my moratorium is over!!!!!!  If I had to pick one, I really would like to read A Kiss at Midnight!

  12. John says:

Oh oh oh!  There are so many!  *begs to the god of Random Number Generators to land on whatever number this comment is*

If I would have to pick one to read first…it would be His Christmas Pleasure.  I’ve been up for a good holiday read, and historicals are my favorite romance genre.  Combing that with the holidays around this time of year always has me drooling!  I’d probably read Rules of an Engagement next, or possibly in front of that, because I saw it in the grocery store and thought it sounded like several kinds of awesome.  Also cheesy but fun in step-back form.

  13. willaful says:

Very tough call, but I think I would have to go with the Caroline Linden. Although that Jo Beverley is also calling me…

  14. Suzanne Gross says:

Holy Moses, but that is a lot of books!!!  I would read A Kiss at Midnight because I have never read anything by Eloisa James and I think that should be remedied ASAP!  Thanks for the chance to win and Happy Hanukkah!!!!

  15. Katrina says:

What a beautiful stack of books!

I’d read Ten Ways first because Sarah MacLean is hilarious on Twitter.

I’d give away the Kaki Warner novels because I’ve read them and they’re amazing and should be read by more people.

  16. Laura says:

The Devil Wears Plaid looks interesting.  In fact, they all look interesting.

  17. Jo says:

I think I would read The Devil Wears Plaid first just because I like the title and I would give as a gift A Pirates Possession to my bff cos she is rather fond of some sexy pirates!

  18. Angie G says:

That is an awesome collection of books! JUST WOW!!!  I’d start with Kaki Warner’s Chasing the Sun.  I’ve been waiting for that one.  I love the cover too!  Thanks for this opportunity.

  19. peachgirl says:

    The Devil Wears Plaid.

  20. Ellowyne says:

Oh man, I’d definitely read Seven Nights to Forever just because I want to use the word ONGEPOTCHKET, and I figure I’ll have a better chance if someone sees that cover…

  21. sue brandes says:

I would love to read The Devil Wears Plaid by Teresa Medeiros.

  22. Julie B says:

Seven Nights to Forever.  Even though the cover makes my eyes bleed, the review piqued my interest.

  23. Corina says:

Oooh!  What a delicious prize.  I’d totally read Pirate’s Possession first because I haven’t read a pirate story in yonks.

  24. Lisa A. says:

I’d start with The Devil Wears Plaid.  I love those Scottish Alphas!!

  25. Kaetrin says:

Wow Sarah!  I love Hanukah and I’m not even Jewish.  Thank you for these great giveaways!

Now, to your question – Emily and the Dark Angel by Jo Beverley.  As for a gift, I might give the Kaki Warner books because I have a friend with a soft spot for cowboys.  But I might have to keep them too.  Maybe we could have a custody sharing arrangement. 🙂

  26. Jenny E. says:

Wow, that is a very impressive collection. I started reading Jo Beverley’s trad Regencies many years ago and never found a copy of Emily & the Dark Angel, so I would start there. I remember loving the other books in that series.

  27. Carly says:

    Well, I do like pirates…

  28. LSUReader says:

My first read would be Outrageously Yours, by Allison Chase. I enjoyed the first in this series of sisters who are spies working for their childhood friend, Queen Victoria.

  29. Kirstin says:

I would read “The Devil Wears Plaid” first. I passed up buying it for another book and have regretted it ever since.

  30. appomattoxco says:

My TBR doesn’t even count as a pile anymore. I would love these.

  31. rebyj says:

Teresa Mederios’s THE DEVIL WEARS PLAID!

  32. Barbara W. says:

I’d say Organzazism (or Seven Nights to Forever).

captcha mean75, cause I was crabby earlier 🙂

  33. lunarocket says:

ARGH!!!! I’d read A Pirate’s Possession first simply because I haven’t read a piratey romance yet!

    ARGH!!! AHoy matey! ARGH!!

    (length42) OMG!!!

  34. Spider says:

I think I would read the Medieros first!

  35. Sarah says:

The Devil Wears Plaid.. oh yeah.

  36. Sophie Taylor says:

I would read “Ten Ways to be Adored when Landing a Lord” because I remember reading a post on this site that praised it’s style and heroine.

  37. Amy/Cerulean says:

I’d go with Teresa Medieros’s The Devil Wears Plaid because of the cover model. She has the most interesting smile – a smirk, really. I love the colors on the cover, but I find her expression just intriguing. Plus, I used to love Medieros’s books, so I’d like to try again.

    Happy Hanukkah!

  38. It was a hard decision but I choose Teresa Madeiros’ The Devil Wears Plaid because I love Scottish historical romance.

    My best to the Bitchery!!!
    Hugs,
    Tambra Kendall

  39. ellie anne says:

    !!!! Books ! I love books! !!!! 🙂

I must read Seven Nights first because I am unable to tear eyes away from the cover… I have this itch to know what is underneath all of that Organzasm.

  40. SD says:

    Sarah MacLean’s “10 Ways…”
