Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah, there’s a lot of family during Hanukkah, so maybe it’s time to go hide and read.
To continue the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a digital reader AND a case with a light – so you can hide in a closet and read. Not that I’ve ever done that, no. Not me!
All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.
Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). No shirt, no shoes, no service. Professional driver: do not attempt. Do not turn over. For ventilation, open window, or maybe a door.
Ahoy! Contest the sixth!
On the Sixth Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A refurbished Sony 300 Pocket, with a new case with an onboard light. Note: this is not the touchscreen Pocket; this is the previous model with the buttons. And, it is PINK. (I love this shade of pink on the Sonys. It’s awesome.)
Just leave a comment below, and tell me your favorite place to hide and read, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I will admit, I’m having a good time over here.
Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

I like to sneak out of bed in the middle of the night and sit on my living room couch next to a lamp with a blanket and some tea (and maybe some chocolates).
My favorite place to hide and read is in a window seat, any window seat. Since there are no window seats anywhere I go on a regular basis, I’d have to say that sitting in any such seat has to count as hiding on some level.
I used to hide under my covers.
I hide in the laundry room. No one dares enter because they’ll be conscripted to fold laundry. It’s amazing how long it can take to get our laundry done some days, especially right after I’ve gone to the library/bookstore.
My bed.
Ahhh it’s 11:49 where I’m at
My favorite place to read is the bathroom! I’m never interupted, it’s always warm, and the toliet seat cover is very comfy.
For hiding and reading, nothing beats the bathtub. But in all fairness, if I won this ereader, I’d probably find a new place.
In the lounge when my son has gone to bed – blessed quiet!!
I close my office door at lunch time and lose myself in a book. It’s over too soon.
Thankfully I don’t have to hide to read anymore but growing up it was wherever I wouldn’t get caught 😉
I am so glad those days are behind me.
My favorite place to hide and read is in my car. I live with 5 other people so… really not many hiding places.
the best place to read? cosied up in my bed! nice and comfy, warm and on my own… great!
i just lock myself in my room, and if i’m feeling really sneaky, i’ll hide under the covers. 🙂
