Hanukkah oh Hanukkah, you’re early as what the hell now this year! Which means… it’s fun and games time here at the Hot Pink Palace of Bitchery!
Tonight begins the festival of Hanukkah, wherein Jewish folks light the menorah, consume fried things, and celebrate for eight nights. And since the Jewish folks are known as The People of the Book, I figured, let’s celebrate reading, eh? I’ve been saving up items all year for the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital. Are you ready to rumble? I hope so!
These contests are super easy. All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.
Standard disclaimers: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Despite popular wisdom, Jewish folks don’t traditionally dance the hora on Hanukkah. Your mileage may vary. Slippery when wet. Bon Jovi was not harmed in the making of this giveaway. Hanukkah candles never fit in the menorahs, no matter what you do. A latke a day is probably not good for your cardiovascular health.
Ahoy! Contest the first!
On the First Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A brand spanking new Sony!
From the fine people at Sony, I have here a PRS-650, better known as the new Sony Touch. It’s red. It’s very sexy. And it can be yours as part of the Smart Bitches Hanukkah Festival.
Just leave a comment below, and tell me what book you’d buy or borrow first, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have lost my ever lovin’ mind.
Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

I’d catch up with my romance reading of course. Sophie Jordan’s Sins of a Wicked Duke. When Harry Met Molly by Kramer. Not that Kind of Girl by Donovan. Etc., etc., etc. 🙂 Can’t only have just one!
Happy Hanukkah! My book pick would be the new one by Laura Lee Guhrke, “Wedding of the Season”.
Woo Hoo! Love that it’s open internationally!
I’ve put Zoe Archer’s Blades series on my to read list, but I’ve been waiting till after christmas ‘cause I always get some Chapters cash.
Silent in the Grave by Deanna Raybourne if I could only pick one then the rest of the series. Then I would go crazy at my library ebook collection….Great contest
Happy Holidays!
I think I’d pick Songs of Love and Death as due to space issues I’ve had to stop buying hardbacks. Especially of anthologies 🙁
Or if it was something that wasn’t out yet than Archangel’s Consort by Nalini Singh. Can’t wait.
Awesome competition Smart Bitches. Thanks.
Her Majesty’s Maiden by Michelle Houston. A historical court life romance about a gentlewoman of the Virgin Queen that actually looks like it has REALLY GOOD writing, has gotten great reviews on All Romance, and it’s about lesbian love? And it’s only THREE DOLLARS?
How can I resist?
After that I can move on to the zillion werewolf books and historicals on my wish list.
through42: I hope I can get through 42 novels on a shiny new red Sony Touch.
Happy Hannuka!
Sexy Sony E-reader! I was hoping to see u under my christmas tree 🙂
I’m buying ‘you slay me’ by Katie McAllister next….. looking forward to some kick-ass, female dynamite!
snowy greetings from belgium for everyone!
Celine
Ooh! Me, me! I would very much buy the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning so that I could catch up before the new book comes out!
Woooo hoooo!
The first book I’d buy?
Anything by Lori Foster.
😉
The Agent Gambit by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller – or In Fire Forged by David Weber
Awesome giveaway! First book would be Zoë Archer’s Scoundrel followed by the rest of the Blades of the Rose series.
Hurray, X-mas! First comment I’ve ever left because I’m shy, but free stuff trumps character flaws.
The Secret Tunnel by James Lear is what I’d buy for romance. I guess it could pass for romance in some circles, anyway. It’s really just hilariously filthy buggery. Another choice would be Your Scandalous Ways by Loretta Chase, because a) Loretta Chase is the best b) because I love her characters c) because the characters are witty and fun and great and d) because it got an A-, and I am totally okay with that.
It’s a toss-up between Warrior by Zoe Archer and Revealed by Kate Noble. But in all honesty I’d probably try to be good and go download a bunch of free books from Project Gutenberg first.
Frederica, by Georgette Heyer. My absolute favorite book.
If I would win, I’d buy the Spymaster’s Lady, cause I still haven’t read that one!
The latest Connie Willis (Black Out). That girl should write faster.
I would download a copy of Pride & Prejudice, because I love it so much and it started my love of romance. Then I would borrow the next book club book by Amanda Quick from my area’s digital library, and buy about 12 other things from my extensive wish list!!
Mockingjay – because I’ve read 1 and 2 and must know what happens next!
Spamword – Area46. Still five areas to go.
