Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah, it’s not getting old yet, the candle lighting and the present opening and the awesome fried foods!
So, let’s bring in more festival merriment to celebrate reading of both digital and paper books with yet another giveaway! I have a collection of urban fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal romance. It’s kinda huge. Huge like a sword that’s twice as long as three heroines, all wearing leather pants with just a hint of muffin top.
All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.
Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). The tallest candle in the menorah is called the “shammash,” and it means “helper.” It lights the other candles, unless you drop it. Then it’s helping you burn yourself. Many bags look like, but most menorahs, or menorot, look different.
Ahoy! Contest the fourth!
On the Fourth Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A massive selection of urban fantasy, science fiction and paranormal romance!
Just leave a comment below, and tell me which of the outfits pictured above you’d like to wear (I want the one from the Zoe Archer cover because I am COLD) or which paranormal/urban fantasy clothing item is your fave. Come on, someone loves those leather pants, and The UF Belt (which I’ve now seen on shoes, bags, even headbands. Seriously. Whatever is coming to destroy the earth, we’ll look silly, or good, defending it). Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and we are only HALFWAY done with the crazy up in here!
Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

I want the Long Leather (or whatever) Coat. I like Spike’s read coat in Buffy, I like Harry Dresden’s duster, I like my own cream crepe duster that holds the White Suit together—no, really, I have loved this for ten years IT IS ALL THE AWESOME. When I walk in it, it flares behind me like there’s some breeze assigned just to making me look more badass. It makes me want a sword or a pale-metal gun, depending on the situation. It is possible for me to be awesome while wearing things that are not my long white duster, but the duster makes awesome easier.
I’m not sure how someone would wear the PC Cast outfit but I’ll give it a go, LOL.
I kinda like the outfit on the Briggs cover. I can’t see it in great detail but I like the purple pants/leggings/whatever. Does it include the scepter-like thing she’s holding? Because that totally makes the ensemble come together!
I wanna wear the glowing light scarves from P.C. Cast’s The Goddess of Light. Very sexy, and I’m meeting up with my boyfriend this afternoon 😉
I would read Married With Zombies because that cover just looks so gosh darn awesome.
Even though a guy is wearing it, I love the outfit on the cover of The Crowded Shadows.
I’m with you and would go with the Zoe Archer outfit because we just got our first big snow here in Chi-town.
I’d likely read the P.C. Cast Goddess of Legend first, because I’ve been wanting to read that one for some time.
I wish I was fit and thin enough to wear the leather pants. I love how Rachel in the Kim Harrison books always justifies her leather pants wearing, as a sensible choice because they dont rip easily.
The temperature is starting to drop here in the South, so for tomorrow the Wolfsbane outfit with a swirling cape (a jacket would be tacky), then Rebel for when it really gets cold.
If we’re being at all realistic I’d have to pick the C.L. Wilson Ren Fair outfit. However, what I’d really like is to be able to pull off the leather pants.
I’d pick the outfit from the cover of Wolfsbane. Second choice is the Rebel outfit. It’s cold in beantown this a.m.
I’d wear the tattoos from Elle Jasper’s Afterlight… as long as I could have a body that fit to go along with them. I’ll start working out now, and maybe by tomorrow I’ll win and stop exercising in my excitement. Or I’ll lose and stop exercising in disappointment… hmm… Maybe the Zoe Archer outfit would be better 😉
Married With Zombies—Great suits. Not just for men anymore.
I would love to be able to wear the pants on the Afterlight cover but well, there would be muffin top busting out all over.
The Day of the Dragon cover. Seriously, if I could wear that tattoo and those abs. *G* Miracles, as they say. It would be a Hanukkah miracle! 😀
To be fair, the C.L.Wilson and Zoe Archer outfits deserve a nod for some coolness. I’m just a little less jaded with mantitty at this point in my romance reader career.
longer64 – Doesn’t need a response. Really.
I pick the guy from Demon after Dark also. I don’t know if that counts, but there you go. I’m squeeing here too, because I didn’t know PC Cast had a new Goddess book out! I love those!
I would like to be wearing the guy from the “Demon From the Dark” cover.
The outfit on the Wolfsbane chick ain’t too bad…hard to see too well, but the boots look great!
From the cover above my favorite outfit is the Wolfsbane one, but I think my favorite urbanfantasy clothing item is the lowrise jeans (best displayed by mercy thompson) and with close second the dangerous looking, yet somehow shiny, knife
Definitely the one from REBEL because we’ve had more than a foot of snow this week plus abnormally cold temperatures…I am wearing about 3 layers and still feel cold! Bleh.
Can we pick wearing the demon from Cole? It not I go with the blue dress from Wilson’s book.
I’d love to be able to wear the outfit (is there enough of it to call it an “outfit”?) on the P.C. Cast cover. Unfortunately, I’ll never be that thin.
If I could wear the tats on Afterlight, i would be a pretty happy girl.
Nothing says confidence like a good suit, I could totally wear that, though I’d leave the meat cleaver in the kitchen
I, too, would love to be wearing the fellow from the Kresley Cole book!
I like the clothes on the Patricia Briggs cover. But I’m betting they don’t come in my size. 🙂
The little gown on the cover of In the Dark of Dreams. The cutie, too.
This New England girl also wants the outfit on the Zoe Archer cover!!
I love the outfit the woman is wearing in Wolfsbane. I’m a sucker for underbust corsets like that, and I really like her shirt and boots. I could do without the leggings, though—maybe I could trade those in for a pair of leather pants?
I’m another Crown of Crystal Flame girl. That dress is so pretty.
OOOH!!! Great authors and titles. Awesome giveaway!!
The outfit from Married with Zombies. Layers are good for me.
I gotta go with the Zoe Archer heroine’s look, ‘cause (a) I’m freezing, and (b) I don’t have the body-confidence to pull off those other getups (although having one of the cover guys draped around me does have its own appeal…).
view27: yeah, I could view some of those coverboys 27 times (or more…)
The Zoe Archer outfit for sure. I would look ridiculous in any of the others. I just started reading Scoundrel and am loving it. I feel like I am part of the book, which is something that doesn’t always happen.
Definitely the Wolfsbane outfit. Love the dress on the crystal flame book but it would get in the way of my ass kicking.
The wolfsbane dress is very I-can-be-glamourous-and-intimidating-I-am-woman-you-better-run! which is what I wish all my clothes said.
Yeah, I’m with ya on the Zoe Archer cover. I would wear that in a heartbeat; it got down to NINE last night. What is up with that?! I’m from California, this isn’t supposed to happen to me!
The one on P.C. Cast’s, complete with extra-glowing effects!
The one the girl is wearing on Crown of the Crystal Flame. I just really like princessy dresses.
i love the dress on the cover of PC Cast’s Goddess of Legend
Hmm, one thing about UF covers is there are usually more tattoos than clothes…
I think I’ll go with the C.L. Wilson’s Tairen covers…imagine what you could hide in those sleeves!
