Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah, you’re still delicious, but I’m a little tired of latkes.
But that’s ok: Han Solo is here to help. Thanks to Mama Nice for that awesome graphic.
And you know what never gets old? Free stuff! Today: another book collection, this one courtesy of Simon & Schuster, who have compiled a bunch of December books for your reading pleasure. All you have to do is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.
Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Oy is just Yo backwards. Do not taunt happy fun ball. Not valid where prohibited by law or by that huge guy who stands at the door and decides who is cute enough to get in. That guy sucks sometimes. Do not write below this line. Falling rock. Still Slippery When Wet. No, that doesn’t get old.
Ahoy! Contest the fifth!
On the Fifth Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A big ol’ selection of some December 2010 and holiday romances, with something for every reading taste: some to keep, and some to give to friends (or keep them all, I won’t tell).
Just leave a comment below, and tell me which one you’d read, or which one you’d give away, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming tomorrow and another chance to win. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and you need things to read or read on during the holidays, right? Right. Of course.
Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

Oh! I’d start with A Highlander for Christmas because I’m a sucker for anything Scottish—-followed closely by A Hellion in Her Bed since historicals always hit the spot.
Ecstacy in Darkness because the blurb sounds awesome, but I am buying only e these days and the agency pricing has hit with this one.
I’d start with the Linda Lael Miller, it’s been a long time since I’ve read anything by her. But, I’d read them all and then share with friends at work.
I’d probably check out A Hellion in Her Bed, but Ecstasy in Darkness tempts me hugely too. I’ve been meaning to get into paranormals more, but haven’t wanted to just start blind.
I was debating between Earl of Darkness and Highlander for Christmas. On the one hand you get a mysterious and dark hero which is always fun, on the other you get a highlander… Need I say more? Definitely going with the Highlander, because I can’t help but imagine sexy and powerful Scotsman standing awkwardly by a Christmas tree with a bow on his head.
Probably either one of the paranormals (because I am huge fan of SFF) or A Hellion in Her Bed, as I like historicals.
Hellion in Her Bed. I love me a hellion hero, and it’s about beer! Excellent pairing.
As I haven’t read ANY of these, I’d read them ALL, and then give the ones I liked to my mom.
I’d honestly have to read the backs to see which one I want to read the most – but I’d probably start with Aching For Always simply because I like her dress.
I would give them ALL away afterwards – to the library where I work. Romances are very popular with our homebound patrons and they read our entire collection very quickly. So the more romances we can add the better.
Seriously, if any of you have read once brand new romances you want to get rid of, give them to your local library. Their homebound patrons will thank you. And so will the library’s budget.
It would be hard to choose, but I would probably start with Hellion in Her Bed. Give away? OK, if I must, my sister would be getting Linda Lael Miller, because she’s the one who introduced me to that author’s books.
I’d read them all, then give them all away, because I’m like that. And seriously, if anyone has romances they’re thinking of getting rid of, the NYPL has a woefully inadequate selection. Which may be by choice, I don’t know, but I like to foist romances off on them anyway. I’d start with a hellion in her bed, because the cover is too much.
I’ve been in a holiday mood recently, so I’d have to read the Christmas books first
I’d start with Julia London because I’ve never read her and I hear good things. And I don’t have space in my tiny apartment so they’d all end up being given away or donated eventually, most likely.
I’d have to admit I’d probably read all of them, in no particular order, and then share the love. Only problem is the only people I know who like to read romance novels are all of you. (This is what happens when all your friends are engineering students).
I’d read the Gena Showalter first, since that’s on my list of wants!
Give me a Highlander any day not just Christmas.
I would read My Fair Succubi. I’ve read the first two books in the series and loved them! Even though Jackie sometimes got on my nerves, hunky Zane and Noah totally makes up for it!
You had me at “free stuff…”
I would probably read Gena Showalter’s Ecstasy in Fantasy. Haven’t read that one yet.
I would give my mother the Linda Lael Miller book as a stocking stuffer. Then I’d make her give it back so I can read it too:-)
I’d give “Deep Kiss in Winter” to a dear friend of mine, because I already own it & I’ve been telling her how great both Kresley Cole & Gena Showalter are since I just love their books. And, of course, I’d read “Ecstasy in Darkness” first!
I’d have to give away Deep Kiss of Winter and Hellion in Her Bed because I have them lol
Julia London. Or Linda Lael Miller. Or….
I have to admit reading the disclaimers is as much fun as seeing what the prize is.
I’d read “A Highlander for Christmas” first because I love me a Scottish laird. And I’d share all of them with my friend who is always asking for smut suggestions.
I’d read them all! Then I’d send the one’s I think my mom would like to her. 😀 After all she is responsible for my addiction…I mean love of romance. *wink*
I WANT THE SABRINA JEFFRIES.
Okay, the library will have it for me eventually, but WANT.
Also, I’ve been craving compilations of Christmas novellas. This is a problem, as I read them all over the summer.
Mine Mine Mine…all for me…well if I win anyway!!
Julia London first and then the rest in any ol’ order…
for me it would be a toss up of either Deep Kiss of Winter by Kresley Cole & Gena Showalter or Exstasy in Darkness by Gena Showalter. So hard to decide.
I’d read the Gena Showalter’s first, because I just love her! I’d have to give away the Highlander one, because I’ve never been able to get into the Scottish romances. I’m open-minded and all, but something about a guy in a skirt….
j/k. I just don’t like Scottish romances.
I’d get Aching for Always for myself, because the concept sounds fascinating, and I’d get Ecstasy in Darkness for my friend who reads every vampire novel she can get her hands on!
I would read Blood Trinity or Aching for Always first. Maybe I would read the Julia London book first. It’s very difficult to choose!
I would choose Sabrina Jeffries book, A Hellion In Her Bed, to read first. But, the Julia London book is in close second.
I don’t think I could resist diving right into Earl of Darkness. I can somehow hear Eddie Izzard saying EARL OF DARKNESS!!!
Ooh!! I can’t decide between One Night in Scotland and Earl of Darkness. Those capes are teh hotness!!
I’d start reading with Haunted by your Touch and give Deep Kiss of Winter to a friend – already have it on my keeper shelf 🙂
I’d read A Hellion in Her Bed due to the unbuttoned shirt that is somehow still tucked in…
I think I would read One Knight in Scotland…I’m a sucker for a Scottish burr 🙂
I’d keep the Julia London, but I’d send the Sabrina Jeffries to my friend Nicole. We once created a summer reading club in which everyone who lived in our house would choose books for one another based solely on covers, blurbs, heroine hair colors, etc. Then everyone had to give a book report to the other roommates during martini time. That is a delightful cover which I think would make her giggle.
I’d go straight for the Sabrina Jeffries – I haven’t read that one yet!
