Smart Bitches Hanukkah Festival Giveaway: Part Eight!

imageHanukkah, oh Hanukkah, it’s time for the fun to end. Had enough? One more? Sure!

One last giveaway as part of the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a digital reader that’s rather awesome, but getting hard to find.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.

Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Digital or paper reading is awesome, but you knew that. Love is a battlefield.

Ahoy! Contest the eighth!

ETA: It’s not over until it’s OVER – I have a $50.00 gift card to the eHarlequin bookstore, thanks to the fine folks at Harlequin! So! Since folks have awesomeness in store if they win, I’m going to extend the contest for a few hours extra, and the winner will get both the awesome prize below AND the $50 gift card. WOO HOO! Happy Hanukkah from Harlequin!

imageOn the Eighth Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A new-in-box Silver Sony 505. I have a big soft spot for this reader: clear screen, memory slots, slim but portable.

Just leave a comment below, and tell me what you’re wishing for most this holiday season, if you’re celebrating, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have lost my ever lovin’ mind.

Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

  2. Brittany Williamson says:

About to spend my last night of Hannukah this year with no family around…. 🙁  I would LOVE to share my time with a great book on this e-reader and would be forever thankful and grateful.  It would make a lonely 1st holiday alone SO SPECIAL!!  PLEASE CONSIDER ME FOR THE CONTEST!!  Happy Holidays!! 🙂

  3. Julie B says:

I’d really love an ipad but will settle for making it through the holidays without a total melt-down from my mother.

  4. Jean C. says:

I’m wishing for a nice three-week cruise on the Mississippi with my main squeeze!

    Security phrase: slowly14—Oh yeah …

  5. SAM I Was, SAH I Am now.. says:

Just to have fun with the family.. 😀

  6. Gwynnyd says:

World peace … er,  and a DVR. I am sooooo tired of being tied to a TV schedule.  I hate interrupting my reading to have to see a favorite program when some faceless suit with a focus group thinks I ought to want to.

  7. My family celebrates Christmas, and we used to go all out. Our house was entirely decorated inside and out (people used to drive down our street just to see our house all lit up), but since my Grandmother died, Christmas hasn’t been the same. It was several years ago, and we’re just now trying to get back into the swing of things, and get over the heartache. So this year for Christmas, my biggest wish is for those of us left to be together, and bring a little of that Christmas magic back into our lives.

  8. Literary Slut says:

I’m wishing for a final settling in to my new apartment, all the stuff put away in its new home, and time to take a deep breath and chill. Also that the house sells quickly to a nice family who will be as happy there as I was.

  9. Manda says:

I wish for peace for my family. In many ways it has been a great year for me personally, but not so great for my family as a whole. So for us all to have peace, even for a short time, would be a miracle.

  10. Gina says:

Spa package, with a very long, very awesome massage. It’s been a long year. LOL

  11. Carrie says:

I am wishing that my kids don’t get overwhelmed with all of their new presents and remember why we celebrate Christmas.

  12. JF says:

wishing that for even one brief moment, we’d all take a deep breath and send out thoughts of love and peace to everyone on the planet. . .

  13. Kristi says:

I’m wishing for a new kitchen.  But since that probably doesn’t really fit into Santa’s budget this year, I’ll settle for just surviving the week over Christmas with my inlaws 🙂

  14. Ashley says:

I want passing grades for myself and hubster for Christmas! We’re both in grad school and it’s gonna be a close one!

  15. P. Awful says:

I’m wishing most for my wedding to go as planned, with no stressful last-minute surprises.  Date is 1/1/11

  16. Lisa J says:

My wish is pretty simple, to have a nice Christmas with my family.  Doesn’t always happen since there are so many of us.  It would be great if the weather would cooperate this year since last year we got almost a foot of snow on Christmas Eve and I wasn’t able to be there and see everyone.

  17. Lori says:

I’m wishing for a new job for me and a couple of unemployed family members to end a difficult year on a positive note and set up a better 2011.

  18. Betsy says:

I am going back to my parents’ farm in New Hampshire.  They have a jacuzzi.  It will be bitchin.

  19. Nialla says:

My wish is for a new TV and a computer desk. My reality will probably be not having to travel for the holidays, so I can stay home to catch up on reading.

  20. Rebecca says:

My wish is to find a job. My doesn’t-need-to-be-a-wish-‘cause-it’s-going-to-happen-anyway is to play music with friends and family.

  21. Barbara W. says:

I think last week I was wishing for an iPad to drop from the sky, but now I’d just settle for a stress-free month or so.

I’m having Christmas with my family at my parents’ house.  Am I celebrating it?  Eh, not so much.  No tree or anything else at my house this year, I’m not in the mood.  Bah humbug, lol.

effort75 – is that supposed to be a hint that I need to put 75% more effort into something?

  22. Madeline says:

A Matt & Nat purse. Go vegan leather!

  23. Sarah says:

I don’t want much this year beyond peace in the family peeps, but also too many of my friends are jobless right now!  It’s an epidemic, and so I’m wishing for a better new year economically for everyone.

Nope, not asking for much at all 😉

  24. Doris says:

I’m wishing for a wonderful day with my 5 daughters (and one son-in-law) and my husband, as well as some time to read.

  25. Jen C says:

I’m wishing for a peaceful and relaxing holiday season because after the first of the year, things are heating up at work. And a puppy. I would like a puppy.
Thanks for your lovely and generous Hanukkah celebration!

  26. Diana says:

I wish for good health for my loved ones and myself.

  27. ocelott says:

I wish for a drama-less holiday.  I think to do that, though, I’d need a whole new set of relatives (on both sides).

  28. I’m wishing for time with family, decent health, relaxation, and los of reading time.

  29. Alaina says:

i’d like a new phone because my current one is very old and doesn’t work so well.
but even more, i want a new job for my husband, because the place where he works now is sucking his soul out.

  30. Jennifer says:

Simple wishes this holiday season, the ham is moist, the potatoes cheesey & the champagne never stops flowing!

  31. ladyjax says:

I’m wishing for a job (or even the hint of job – that still works) to take some of the stress off my partner who’s carrying the full load for both us and has been for a while.

And to get me out of the house because Judge Judy is starting to make sense.

  32. LEW says:

I’m wishing for next year to be the year I finally graduate (and don’t start a new degree – 3 are enough!).  I’m ready to move on to a life that doesn’t involve me being a student.

  33. Laura (in PA) says:

I’m wishing that I can get to Syracuse and back the week before Christmas to see my family without dealing with crazy weather (yeah, good luck with that), and that our kids make it to our house safely to be with us at Christmas.

And I wouldn’t sneeze at a nice piece of jewelry. 🙂

  34. sue brandes says:

I just want a nice smooth holiday season. Thanks for the giveaway.

  35. susan says:

I have some friends going through very difficult times—out of work, kids with serious health crises, nasty divorces. I really wish them a much better year than this past one.

    That’s all.

  36. Jennifer says:

Well I see most people are wishing for joy in their life and peace and well wishes. Me, I’m wishing for Botox, drop a dress size or two by NYE, one of those fancy schmancy single cup coffee maker with 10,000 ways to make coffee and last but not least for my 2 year old to stop ripping pages out of my books and my 4 year old to go to bed earlier so I can stat my reading before midnight. No, she does not go to bed at midnight. It’s 9pm by the time we get through with bath, bed and books. And then it’s time to finsish what I didn’t that day. And then I get to finally sit and read wich by now it is midnight… So my Christmas wish is utterly selfish and I’m ok with that….

  37. Lindlee says:

My big gift I asked for this Christmas is some nice kitchen knives. I’ve been cooking more and the knives I have now are…well, they’re good for the price I paid for them. But I’m ready to step it up.

  38. Hannah says:

As far as material gifts, I’d really like an Ipad, but I mostly want a relaxing, cozy holiday with my family.

  39. Larena Wirum says:

the one thing I would really like to get for Christmas is Eclipse the movie.  🙂

  40. Natasha A. says:

I’m wishing for a quiet Christmas, with friends and the hubby. I’m hoping to relax and enjoy some time before school starts up for me again. And I’m looking forward to some yummy cooking and baking!! I can’t wait to dig into my cookbooks!
