Smart Bitches Hanukkah Festival Giveaway: Part Eight!

imageHanukkah, oh Hanukkah, it’s time for the fun to end. Had enough? One more? Sure!

One last giveaway as part of the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a digital reader that’s rather awesome, but getting hard to find.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.

Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Digital or paper reading is awesome, but you knew that. Love is a battlefield.

Ahoy! Contest the eighth!

ETA: It’s not over until it’s OVER – I have a $50.00 gift card to the eHarlequin bookstore, thanks to the fine folks at Harlequin! So! Since folks have awesomeness in store if they win, I’m going to extend the contest for a few hours extra, and the winner will get both the awesome prize below AND the $50 gift card. WOO HOO! Happy Hanukkah from Harlequin!

imageOn the Eighth Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A new-in-box Silver Sony 505. I have a big soft spot for this reader: clear screen, memory slots, slim but portable.

Just leave a comment below, and tell me what you’re wishing for most this holiday season, if you’re celebrating, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have lost my ever lovin’ mind.

Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

The thing I’m wishing for most is a new laptop. I love my Mac desktop, but I work on a netbook out of the house. I hate PCs.  I would love an ereader though. 🙂

  2. SaraC says:

I’d like an e-reader! 🙂 But if I can’t win this, I’d like some True Blood stuff, like a t-shirt, and some cool glasses. Some books would be nice, my family knows me well, I usually get some GC for the local bookstore, can’t wait!! Thanks!!

  5. Kathy C says:

funnilly enough…an ebook reader. 🙂 I don’t think I’m getting it though. no money this year. Maybe for my brithday in July.

  6. Rudi_bee says:

I wishing for matched luggage this year. I’m planning to do a lot of moving around and would love for it to be in style. An e-reader would be great too so I can bring my books with me in a compact, light-weight fashion. Yay.

  7. SusanL says:

Honestly?  A stress-free Christmas at home.  No guests, no going to someone’s home for Christmas dinner.  Just a quiet day at home.

  8. I would love a Samsung Galaxy Tab. I’m not holding my breath that I’ll get it, but that’s what I really want this year for Christmas.

  9. Heather says:

For my guy: a job. He went back to school just before the recession to get a better job and now he can’t find a $%^& thing.

For me: I want my guy to have made me warhammer death angel figures into ornaments.

    For all: world peace. 😉

  10. Abra says:

I’m wishing for my father to be impressed by the scarf I’m knitting him.  I’m also wishing to get over this cold in time to finish knitting it!

I want a couple of sheep lawn ornaments. Life size fake sheep to graze on my new fake grass in my new landscaping.  I’ll probably have to buy them myself though.  Self gifting, it’s still a gift.

  12. Jen J says:

So many times I’ve considered requesting an e-reader as a gift, but each and every time I can’t silence the voice that screams “how many print books can I get for the price of that fancy thing?!” I know I want one, and that I would love it, but it’s hard to resist the 1 e-reader vs. 20 paperbacks argument.

  13. Spider says:

Fiscal security is all I want for Xmas!

  14. I’m wishing for thirty extra 24-hour days between now and December 25. In lieu of that, I will take alcohol.

I feel I should say “peace on earth, goodwill to men”.  Whew.  Now that I’ve given my noble wish, here’s my (very) greedy one—-recently got a Kindle, absolutely love it.  But now longing for an epub reader (Sony or Kobo or Nook or…)  So…this would be perfect!!

All I want is a little peace and quiet.. oh, and some chocolate and trashy books. Yup, that should do it.

  26. Courtney says:

This Christmas I am wishing for a sewing basket.  I don’t have one and the buttons and mending are piling up!  I want to fix what I own rather than buy new, and a sewing basket will do the trick!
Aside from that—wishing for a good outcome for my dad’s health.  Just wanted to put that out there.

  27. Xy_Zero says:

Since I’m not much for presents anymore, I think I’m wishing for an awesome 2011 =) Thanks for these giveaways by the way; I haven’t entered all of them but they’ve been a lot of fun to anticipate.

What I am wishing for is an e-reader to lessen my paperback pile of books.

  32. Angelique says:

Ooh, an e-reader AND a gift card?!  SWEET!

  33. I caved.  It was really the gift card that did me in.  I’m a sucker for free books.  🙂

I’ve asked Santa for an ereader, but I don’t know if I’m on the naughty or nice list, so no clue if one will be dropping down my chimney.

Spam word: Complete33…because nothing would complete me (or my already-obnoxious book collection) like 33 free books.

  34. Lizabeth S. Tucker says:

I’d love to have the time to read and the money to travel, but until the latter happens, I’ll content myself with the former, as much as I can.

  35. Mary says:

All I want for Christmas is an e-reader!! (no really!) yes pls?

  36. Janene says:

I’m wishing I get to go home for Christmas. Home being where my parents are.

My reasons are completely selfish:  when I was married to my now-ex husband, I didn’t get to go home for 5 of the 6 Christmases that he and I were together. There were the excuses (he had to work Boxing Day, the incliment weather for the 2.5 hr drive, etc), but the truth is, we always went to his parents’ house around Chistmas, never mine.

    It hurt.

After we split, I swore I’d go home whenever possible.

Six years later, this is the first Christmas where it might be held at my house. Not that I’m complaining (much), but there is something … magical … about having Christmas at my parents’ house. It’s not that there’s a huge dinner (there’s just the three of us), or anything else. It’s the time I spend with my parents on their turf (they live 4 hr drive away). I adjust to their routines. It’s the snow on Christmas morn (kind of dicey in the toronto area). Etc.

It’s … home. And not my home. But the home I associate with Mom and Dad.

I wish that I can go home for Christmas, even though I’m probably going to be hosting it at my house.

  37. Katie says:

I just want to have my neurotic dog be OK while I am gone visiting family.  And hopefully he will not poop on his babysitter’s floor!

  38. Amy S. says:

    Cool!  Thanks for the chance!

  39. After 7 years of infertility, I’m finally pregnant and hoping to make it through the holidays and give birth to a nice healthy baby in February.
