Hanukkah, oh Hanukkah, it’s time for the fun to end. Had enough? One more? Sure!
One last giveaway as part of the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a digital reader that’s rather awesome, but getting hard to find.
All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.
Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Digital or paper reading is awesome, but you knew that. Love is a battlefield.
Ahoy! Contest the eighth!
ETA: It’s not over until it’s OVER – I have a $50.00 gift card to the eHarlequin bookstore, thanks to the fine folks at Harlequin! So! Since folks have awesomeness in store if they win, I’m going to extend the contest for a few hours extra, and the winner will get both the awesome prize below AND the $50 gift card. WOO HOO! Happy Hanukkah from Harlequin!
On the Eighth Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A new-in-box Silver Sony 505. I have a big soft spot for this reader: clear screen, memory slots, slim but portable.
Just leave a comment below, and tell me what you’re wishing for most this holiday season, if you’re celebrating, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have lost my ever lovin’ mind.
Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

I’m wishing for a calm and restoring holiday season.
I’m hoping for a festive holiday with no drama.
i hope to get a ereader
I’m wishing for a Caribean vacation, but would settle for warmer weather.
For Christmas, I want it to be wonderful, as it’s my husband and I’s first Christmas as a married couple, and I want my 21 month old son to experience the magic of Christmas.
(And I have been hinting at an ereader to my husband for awhile now!)
I’m wishing for my husband to have a happy Christmas with me even though we can’t afford to buy each other gifts this year (it’s not super-dire! We just don’t have money for stuff like that for ourselves right now). I’m making him some pajama pants, but I know that will pale in the face of previous celebrations, when I had an income.
I’m wishing for my bills to be magically paid, my remodel to be done on time and for my choice to send my daughter to a new school be the right one.
Happy Hannukah to everyone. I hope it was a magical and spiritual week for everyone celebrating.
Besides a Silver Sony 505? How about the insanely expensive Ergonomic Steno writer I want for school. Barring that, my student loans paid off would be nice. Oh. I have to be realistic. Then I’ll go with a pair of fuzzy houseslippers….
My husband just got out of the Marines December 3rd, and I’m pregnant with our first baby due in March, so we decided to save our money and not get each other gifts this year. Luckily though, we’re living with my parents now and were able to get them really nice things! For this holiday season, I’m wishing for the most is a little extra cash to get my husband something for Christmas, just to let him know I love and appreciate him and that it’s not the end of the world now that he’s a civilian! An eReader would be great for him since that would mean he’d give me mine back 😛
The thing that I want most this holiday season? Uninterrupted hours with which to sit back and tackle my TBR pile. I started the SBTB Book Club choice, Scandal, just this past Sunday, and work has forced me to put it down for the past three days. I swear, I’m about to start going through withdrawals.
I’m blessed as it is, though, even if I don’t get those hours and hours of reading paradise. I get to spend the holidays with my family, and I think we might even postpone our Saturday 10k run by a day just so we can all really and truly relax!
Hope you and yours had and continue to have a great holiday season! Thanks so much for all this fun!
I am wishing for an ereader and the time to enjoy being with my best friend, my hubby.
Lots of nice quiet reading time 😉
I celebrate Santa Claus. I’m not sure about the rest of the family.
I hope for some time to rest in the middle of the craziness. This year is going to be a little more frantic than usual. But fun!
I really really wish for an easy first semester in library grad school.
but if we’re talking about what’s going to be wrapped under the Christmas tree… felting supplies.
Not to be hokey, but I’m just wishing for a little quiet time with my family. I’ve seen them too little this past year, and always in the midst of chaos. But of course, that’s family for ya…
More importantly, though, I’m wishing for better health for all the people I love next year.
One of those lovely foot spa thingys so I can sit and read and soak my feet.
I’m not sure what happened to my post. I don’t know if it went into the internet dryer or if its under moderation….
Anywho, I’d like my grandmother’s health to improve. She’s been in and out of the hospital for the past 4 months. Grams, its a hospital, not a spa!
Feliz Navidad
I just want someone to buy our house! We moved from central NC to San Francisco in July and the damn thing’s still on the market. That’s really what will make me the happiest right now.
I’m hoping for a joyful holiday season with my family and that I magically come up with some gift ideas that can accommodate my utter “brokeness” Praying that 2011 will be a better year for all of us struggling with economic woes. Winning a fabulously free Sony e-reader would perk me up:)
I’m wishing for a magic bullet.. lame I know.. but I love to cook! 🙂
I am getting a new gun..so that’s going to be awesome!!!
a new reader would be frekin sweet!!!
In terms of gifts… like other’s have said, an ereader would be awesome. I’m all for instant gratification. Put instant books in the mix and whoot!
Aside from that, I want what I always want, for my family to be safe and happy and have another good year.
I just wish for eveyone to be able to celebrate with those they love.
What I want for the holidays?
Some time to relax, I have had a lot to do for the last month, so I’d like a few days with absolutely nothing to do, just relax
Present wise, I’ve gotten hints I might get a e-reader. So one of those and a few books, and I’m happy. Maybe a new jigsaw puzzle for us to build. (Me and my siblings traditionally build one together each Christmas)
What I want for the holidays is for the kids to be on break so they don’t have any school clubs or activities and for my DH to use his remaining vacation time so he doesn’t have to go to work. We’ll play family games every day, keep a fire going in the fireplace, and just relax!
Time with family with no watches or clocks.
This year I am hoping that my friends cancer goes into remission and she has many more Christmases to spend with us
What I want for my kids: a great job for the oldest instead of being the abuse magnet for an unhappy supervisor and, for the youngest, a country where marrying your boyfriend does not mean your child loses his health insurance. Wow, big dreams. But I would settle for an e-reader. Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas and Joyous Yule and Wonderful Kwanzaa (and thank goodness for spell check) to you all.
What I want for the holidays? A day of “Can you?” free!
I kinda got everything I wanted, both materially and emotionally, already this year. I wanted to be able to make costumes and do wardrobe and TRAVEL with a dance company that appreciated and liked me, and after 17 years of wishing, hard work and the grace of the universe granted it to me. I guess the best thing I could get for Christmas is the ability to see my faraway friends more often, and for all my hard-working friends who are unemployed to get jobs that are truly worthy of them!
I most want to be able to stay off the sweets. 56 days so far, but all the Christmas goodies lying around are making it harder every day.
i already know that the gift my mom is giving me is a trip to cuba for the two of us in january. we’re joining my best friend and her mom and it’s pretty much the best gift i could ever ask for.
so i’m just wishing for great weather and maybe some men who know how to salsa dance but aren’t too grabby – it’s a great combo when you can find it!
I’m wishing for time to read and relax! Lots of time to read!
Tracy
I want my husband’s migraines to go away and never return, ever. That would be the greatest gift I could get.
This holiday, I’m hoping that anyone who wants a job will find one, they get paid a living wage, and that job will last as long as they’d like it to.
I’d also like an e-reader.
And world peace.
Happy Holidays,
-J
I’m wishing for a nice big gift certificate to CDBaby. I love getting music from them, but it can be expensive at times.
I have a lot of knitting projects I plan to work on after the holidays are over, so I would like gift cards to craft stores so I can get my supplies.
I’m wishing for the magical thesis fairies to swoop in and finish mine while I sleep! I don’t think that’s too much to ask…
Hooray for the holidays!
The thing i am most wishing for is that both of my sisters decide to come home for the holidays! As we’re getting older we see each other less and with one working halfway across the world its almost impossible for the three of us to get together. Oh, and im wishing for new sheets. lol
I’d love to travel to somewhere warm and sunny with my husband this Christmas – but we’ll probably stay here in our 0 F and zero daylight hours paradise in stead 🙂
