The book is a romance novel, I think from the 90s, and it’s about a Greek woman who’s father has recently died. She marries a wealthy Greek man that she does not know very well(I think that the fathers arranged this to end some kind of family feud?).I think that the man’s name is Nic or Nico. They go on a cruise for the honeymoon and fall hesitantly in love.
But it turns out that the man’s cousin(Katrina) is jealous of the match and tries to break it up by making it look like the woman has cheated which makes the husband very upset and jealous. When his wife ends up pregnant he tells her that he knows it isn’t his but that he’ll accept it in public. Lots of heartbreak ensues on both sides until the truth is discovered. I think that in the end of the book the now happy couple has had their baby and they name her sofia. At least that’s the way I remember it. I read this one a quite some time ago and I could just be mixing up my books.
Nico’s ex is on their honeymoon? Oy. This sounds like a Presents – anyone remember this one?
It’s the Cozakis Bride by Lynne Graham.
Olympia has no choice. Either she begs Nik Cozakis to reconsider a marriage of convenience, or her mother won’t get the medical treatment she needs. Nik agrees – but on his own terms: Olympia must bear him a son and heir. Nik has seized his chance of vengeance.
He has a nasty cousin Katarina who wants Nico. Years ago Olympia and Nico were engaged by Katarina set her up and she was sent home from Greece in disgrace. Fast forward she and Nico get married (via some torturous plot devices I can’t quite remember). Usual drama/accusations/leaving spouse etc occurs. He apologises for being an asshat. HEA ensues.
It is a Presents.
Sorry, his name is Nik. I think I’ve just finished another one of hers where the hero is Nico.
Bam! Nailed it on the first try! Congrats, Shelly!
Thanks Quichepup. I will confess to a tragic addiction to Lynne Grahams. I know they’re the same plot over and over. I know the heroes and heroines only change nationality and names (and hair colour for the heroines). But I can’t help it. Just know that I’ve tried.
LOL, Shelly. I have an addiction to Lynne Graham as well.
Me three. Or four? I love Lynne Graham’s Greek Tycoons. I should probably bring that up to my therapist…
Add me to the Lynne Graham Fan Club – I also recognized this one right away! No apologies for enjoying her style, her chracters, and her plot lines – you go, girl!
Sounds like The Greek Tycoon’s Unwilling Bride’s Jealous Rival to me. Spamword is think62 as in “I think 62 Harlequins have used this plot”.
I know it’s a romance novel but I’m flashing back to the General Hospital storyline where Laura ended up on the evil Cassadine’s Greek island in a forced marriage to Stavros (who had an evil weather machine or something) only she had an affair with his (good?) brother Stefan and the child she bore Stavros was actually Stefan’s kid, his name was Nicholas, and directly after giving birth Luke swooped in to save her ass and we didn’t actually find out Nicholas’ parentage until like twenty years later when the Cassadines showed up in Port Charles. And it wasn’t the cousin (Alexis) who hated Laura, it was actually the mother-in-law Helena who was totally bitchcakes insane.
Is it sad that I remember all that?
@Ava – Nah, because I remember that the real reason Sami from Days Of Our Lives is so messed up in the head is because she was raped by a serial rapist – that she was dating and who really wanted to rape Sami’s sister, Keri, but the jury never believed that Sami was raped and let Adam go. So when he tried to rape her again, she shot him in the groin and castrated him.
Even the writers of the show can’t remember this and just try to make her out to be a natural born Evil Psycho Bitch From Hell. Which is why I finally stopped watching.
I quit watching Days when Marlena was possessed of the Debil, LOL
