Thanks to Tammy for forwarding this announcement: FictionWise is offering a 50% rebate on every book they sell. Buy a book, and get 50% of the purchase price as a credit toward a future purchase.
When are they going to stop the rebate program? Check the announcement:
The Feds bailed out Wall Street last week to the tune of $700 Billion, and here at Fictionwise we say: why let the fat cat CEO’s have all the fun? So starting now, every single title in our store sports a massive 50% Micropay Rebate when paying by credit or PayPal! But hurry: we will run this insane eBook Bailout Package either through Sunday October 12, or until we give away $700 Billion worth of Rebates, whichever comes first!
I laughed so hard – way to spin horror into humor, Fictionwise. $700 billion worth of rebates? Bring it on!

Books on Board will take you offer and raise it a bit – 51% Rewards Dollars on anything bought by Sunday.
Wonder who thought of it first?
I like that at least Fictionwise has the cute theme, but being I typically find books cheaper on BoB anyway…
(I’m not smart enough to figure out hyperlinking on here, so the link: http://www.booksonboard.com) 🙂
Unfortunately, everything I would consider buying from Fictionwise they want sell me riddled with DRM restrictions. Which are not popular in a house running multiple operating systems.
I just think this is too funny. LOL
My word is say81
Sayz I!
Oh, thanks for the tip!! Just came back from a long trip, book shopping looks like a perfect thing to do!
Thanks for this tip-off. I have lots of new shiny books now.
WRT: drm’ed ebooks. I have just been introduced to ConvertLit (or with a graphical user interface instead).
I have now freed all of my secure microsoft reader books, so I don’t have to worry about one day being locked out of them.
