The Smart Bitches’ Nora Roberts Quiz of Gigantic Awesomeness

imageI have been working on this quiz for awhile now, and because of that, it’s bloody huge. But! So is the prize pack! Behold, the Nora Roberts Quiz of Gigantic Awesomeness.

Here’s the rules: one entry per person. No, “Oh, I remembered the answer to yadda yadda please accept this instead!” You hit send, you’re done.

Submit your ballots via the form below. If the form doesn’t work for you, please, email me immediately. I’ve been testing this thing for awhile so it should work. If you’d rather not use the form, please feel free to email me your answers directly.

If more than one ballot has 100% of the answers correct, the first one received according to the timestamp on the email message will be the winner.

You have until 11:59 pm Pacific Time on Friday, October 26 to answer the quiz. This entry will self-destruct in exactly 48 hours.

And what does the winner get?

Holy canoli, Batman.

The Prize Pack of Awesomeness:

  1. DBN says:

Sarah, You KNOW how much I want this, you do!  You know my love for Nora Roberts AND you ALSO KNOW that I have a humongous trial tomorrow and that I really must spend all day preparing.  Wahhh!!!

  2. Sandra D says:

Ooo this is good. Must go bury myself in my Nora collection ASAP!

  3. Nifty says:

I consider myself to be a big Nora Roberts fan and re-read her books constantly, but HOLY GUACAMOLE, BATMAN!  Off the cuff, I could answer only about 6 of those.  Tough questions!!

  4. You and me both, Nifty.

(and since I’ve only just purchased my first Roarke novel, woe is me, I’m never gonna win)

  5. Nora Roberts says:

I know the answers! I know! I know!

Bribes may be send to . . .

Oops, probably shouldn’t post that here.

  6. KatyKaboom says:

    We need a Norawiki!

  7. KellyMaher says:

Sweet FSM, woman!!  Let’s hope my afternoon off and my *complete* collection (including PMT) can actually help me win this shit before someone else does 😉

  8. shaina says:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA i know i’ve read all these books but i don’t remember a lot of the details! what’m i gonna do? AAAAAAAAAAAAAA i have homework and studying and shit and most of my Nora collection is home. damn you bitches.

  9. Sarabeth says:

I’ve read so many of her novels that I get the people mixed up—except the Gallaghers and Jude Murray. That Jewels series—love it.

Can we just keep saying “Hooray for Nora Roberts!”?

  10. Chicklet says:

I’ve read nowhere near enough Nora (yet) to enter the contest, but I just wanted to say what a great thing it is! Thanks, Bitches (and Nora)!

  11. MaryKate says:

Well, now I know what I’ll be doing tonight.

    Awesome idea!

  12. Since I’ve only become a Nora reader since reading this blog (you might want to discuss a referral fee!), I don’t think I’m even close to have read enough books to answer these even if I was good with details.

You ever want to do a Johanna Lindsay quiz, though, and I might have a chance.

    my word is appropriately “remember51”

  13. Nifty says:

Aaahh.  *she nods knowingly*  Queen’s Court + PMT, huh?

  14. Kimberly Anne says:

Grrr!  I had no idea I was that far beyond on my Nora Roberts reading!  My hubby may think that my collection is ginormous, but he is sadly mistaken.  Off to the bookstore on my frilly pink Batcycle!  (I know I’m not the only one who fantasized heavily about having one, not to mention the supercomputer behind her vanity table!)

“think51” Nope, no matter how hard I think, I can’t answer these questions.

  15. taybug says:

Yeah, so that quiz just totally called me it’s Bitch and made me cook it dinner! I honestly think I got one right. And I’m pretty sure I’ve read every one of La Nora’s books. In fact, she has one hero with my name…Taylor Reynolds.

I say you make Nora take it, but give her a time limit of seven minutes…hee hee hee!

  16. Annie the Librarian says:

Will you post the correct answers when the dust settles (and the prizes are handed out)?  I’d love to give the Organic Farmers in my life the answer to number 1.

  17. Nifty says:

Here’s my question:  Do I get credit for knowing that in “21.  Name Cain’s club.” you guys really mean Cian?  I was wracking my brain, trying to think of who the hell Cain is.

  18. SB Sarah says:

It’s all part of my nefarious question-crafting plans, Nifty.

And yes, I’ll be posting the answers.

  19. plaatsch says:

I know one answer. Think that’ll qualify me?

  20. Eli says:

I just got the book tubs duct-taped for the flood season.  And even if I don’t get enter answers here the questions will become festering brain maggots until I’ve found them all.

  21. KCfla says:

    OMG-
I’ve read ( and have) most of Nora’s books. But there are maybe 4 of those that I can answer without re-reading.

And concidering the sheer # of her books, I should have that quiz finished by, ohhhhh, Valentines day?????

(around51? Hell, she’s written ALOT more books than that!!!) *BG*

  22. I’m good with detail so the ones that I know, I just know, KWIM? But I’ve fallen woefully behind in reading Nora in my years abroad and have only just started on her JD.Robb stuff so I am not even going to embarrass myself by submitting my answers publicly. Good luck to the rest of you!

  23. Kerry says:

What a great competition and great prizes.  Yay to Nora and the Bitches.

I’m too new a Nora reader to be able to answer these, but good luck to everyone who enters and I’ll look forward to seeing the answers.

Word = recently43.  Why yes, I have been reading a Nora novel recently.  Just finishing it now actually.

  24. Melissa Blue says:

I know all but the answer to number 19. DAMMIT!!

  25. sara says:

Wow. I just did absolutely no work for three hours. And I still don’t have three answers.

  26. Cori says:

Crap, why do I lend my books to people? And why do I have a major project due this week? Now I have to decide between failing law school and missing out on a chance for so much cool prizes. Thanks a lot, Sarah and Nora, making a basketcase out of me!

  27. MaryKate says:

Jesus. You should see the stack of Nora’s I’ve got sitting around me.

*grumbles* Now I have to go fix my shelves.

  28. Kaitlin says:

Wow!  I was thinking everyone would know the answers & I’d be doing this too late.  Now I don’t feel so bad.  🙂

Very excited.  I think I knew 75% of the answers off the top of my head & when I get home I can look up the rest.  Thank goodness I’ve got a pretty reliable memory.  😀

  29. Susan Cody says:

Heck, I’m just excited that I know what PMT means!!!

Can’t even begin to fill in the answers.

    Susan

  30. Jen says:

I have read almost every Nora Roberts book, unfortunately I haven’t read them for a while and much of my collection is out on loan to others.  I sucked this quiz up big time.

    So sad.

  31. Anonym2857 says:

This was a nice diversion from a very painful baseball game.  Who were those people, and what did they do with my Rockies?!

    Diane :oP
off put all the Nora books back on the shelves

  32. KellyMaher says:

Damn, I know Diane beat me.  I so had to flip a coin on the first question, and it’s probably not even one of the two books I was trying to decide between.  Can’t wait to see the answers!  And Jen, yep, QC+PMT…under my other K name 😉  And now, off to some badly needed sleep.

  33. Aimey says:

It figures that since i own all of them most of the particular books i need go missing. Sigh.  so much for paying attention in class tomorrow.

  34. Cori says:

So I was happy that there was a Nora Roberts quiz on Smart Bitches!

And I was sad that I didn’t know half the answers.

But I was happy that some of them could be found online!

And sad that one of the books was published before I was born and I had never read it.

    But happy at cool prizes!

And sad that I had to go to Trial Advocacy instead of looking up answers (and that looking up answers instead of prepping my case made me forget to introduce two bullets into evidence).

But happy that I could go home and think up entertaining answers to the questions I didn’t know!

And sad that I will never win cool prizes.

But happy that I went to the store anyway and bought a Nora Bobblehead! HEA!

  35. Anonym2857 says:

Don’t give up on my account, KellyM—I could have gotten something wrong. Or it could be lost in the ether. My PC is being really pissy tonite, and I keep getting punted offline. For all I know, some or all of my answers never made it. Damn AOL.

    Diane
giving up on the internet for the evening

  36. Nora Roberts says:

~And sad that one of the books was published before I was born~

    Bitch. (Affectionately)

  37. Nifty says:

    <

    >>

K!!!  I just realized who you are!!  Of course, the picture on your website is a dead giveaway.  Ha!  You look smashing!  I love exclamation points!!!!

*off to buy a Kelly Maher book*

  38. Cori says:

Aw, Nora, you know I love you more than my luggage! My mom and grandma and I are all hooked on your books. =)

(Just wait till my mom hears that Nora Roberts called me a bitch-in-the-good-way! ::Fangirl squee::)

  39. Diane says:

So did Anonym2857 get this quiz right?

I know some of the answers, but the rest I have to look up in my Nora keeper section…I won’t bother researching if you already have a winning entry.

    Diane

  40. Anonym2857 says:

Diane, they said submissions were accepted until 11:59 PST tonite. Which means they don’t have to answer until at least tomorrow if they don’t wanna.

And surely I’m not the only one who submitted answers anyway (tho if I am, do I win by default even if I’m wrong? LOL). And who knows if my answers were correct?

Those deviant…er, deviOUS bitches had some sneaky questions in there that could be answered in different ways. Just because I sent in a submission doesn’t mean I answered the way they wanted it answered.

    So don’t stop playing.

    Another Diane :o)
thinking I need a new screen name as well as a number after my birth name just to keep all the Anons and Dianes straight.
