Two quick things to pimp

I don’t have as much time to do my blog rounds nowadays as I’d like to, so I’m somewhat behind on Awesomeness in Romance Blogolandia nowadays. But I just have to say: if you haven’t read EvilAuntiePeril’s screamingly hilarious holiday message from assorted cover models (they love you! Their hair loves you! And so do their oiled abs!), please go read it now. You will not regret it.

Also, Bam notified me of an interesting new blog: The Dean’s Desk. The description of the JAK error made me LOL like I was on AOL.

Oh God! I made the mistake of picturing everything in my mind while I read the letter, and those mental pics had a lot in common with “Zoolander.” I seriously have tears on my face from laughing so hard. This one has me still giggling while picturing all those Highland Romance covers:

we wear our kilts and make the expression that suggests we may be thinking in Gaelic

Help me out here with the Dean’s blog, okay? I’m drawing a complete blank (I HATE when that happens) on who JAK could be!

  2. Oh, thank you! for that link—I lurk at EAP, but somehow missed that one.

Bev: JAK = Jayne Ann Krentz

    AHA! Thank you Meljean!

    From the Dean’s Desk:

Excellent Meljean.  It is gratifying when readers have done their homework and have a good foundation of the basics.
Bev: Aren’t you glad you now are enlightented about the JAK error.  It is a common error but really such greasy kid stuff from writers whose editors should be on top of such things.

    *rubseyes*.

    still there.

Wow. Thank you for the amore, kind words and linkage, Candy. I’m completely flabbergasted.

And thank you bevl and meljean as well. The world is distinctly rosy right now.

Ah… “The Dean’s Desk” was a link forwarded to me by Jane of Dear Author. That girl can find anything on the interweb.

  8. DS says:

But does anyone else remember in her Stephanie James books where she would describe her heroines as having hair the color of toast?  Toast???  Some burnt bits and some highlights I guess.

  9. Suisan says:

I do so love Evil Auntie Peril. Her recent decription of tottering along on cobblestones covered with “Historically accurate” ice pleased me no end. Love to see you sharing the linkie love.
