The summary: Thrill seekers Zakary and Gideon Stark travel the globe in search of extreme adventure, but a trip to Venezuela to jump off the world’s highest falls catapults them into a perilous game of life or death—where they don’t know the rules. Kidnapped with a woman Zak knows nothing about, the brothers are held prisoner deep in the jungle.

A risky, deathdefying escape separates them and nearly claims Zak’s life . . . until his recovery reveals a baffling new sixth sense. Now, to find his missing brother, Zak and the mysterious Acadia Gray will have to out-smart, out-gun, and out-maneuver not just the brutal kidnappers but also a new player who joins the adrenaline game: a ruthless opponent who wants the Stark brothers dead—at any cost.

And here is Randee's review:

I always recommend Cherry Adair’s smart and sexy romantic suspense to anyone interested in stories about love developing against a backdrop of high-stakes adventure. I autobuy all her books, many times without even reading the back cover copy. In the case of Hush, however, not reading the BCC meant my expectations were for one thing, while Hush delivered something else.

The first third of the story was excellent. Zak and Acadia wake up naked and tangled together after a one-night stand. Their awkward morning after is more than a typical nightmare as they are kidnapped and marched through a jungle with his brother. I loved the story, right through their escape made possible by the fact she had eye drops in her multi-pocketed hiking vest.

Then as the brothers parted ways, the book took a departure from what I was expecting. I didn’t understand the men weren’t professional military guys; I didn’t like the brother going his own way; I thought the paranormal turn was a temporary subplot (all of which the BCC sets up). I had trouble suspending my disbelief with some of the coincidences, such as Acadia being a great poker player just when they need money.

Hush has a solid, enjoyable romance story and is a decent read. It just wasn’t my favorite Adair story from 2011. (I preferred the Cutter Cay books). Hush is the first of the Lodestone series, and the second book, Afterglow, was released this past March. Afterglow is a fun chase story through Europe that reminded me at times of the gritty, secret underworld of Dan Brown’s Angels and Demons.
