67. An Interview with Sarah MacLean

What do you do with a rather revolting historical figure from Regency England? Take his strengths, divide them into four lead characters, and turn him into a romance series, of course. What do you do when you discover the bathrooms in Hearst Castle? Add that in, too – even if it doesn't make the final edits.

Please note: there are some spoilers up in here for the series!

Here are the books we discuss in this week's episode:

Book No Good Duke Goes Unpunished Book Oceans 12

Book Oceans 13 Book The Perfect Match - Kristan Higgins

TV reporter Laura Nilsson, known as the “Baghdad Babe,” spent eighteen months in an Al-Qaeda compound after being kidnapped live on the air. Two years later, she’s still wondering why.

No mission in Javier Corbray’s fourteen years as a Navy SEAL affected him the way Laura’s rescue did. No woman had stirred his protective instincts the way she did. And he wants her more than he’s ever wanted anyone.

As Laura and Javier’s passion ignites, so does Laura’s need to discover the mystery of her past. Especially when she learns that her abduction was not random—and that she’s still a target for a killer with an impenetrable motive. Now Javier will have to rely on his skills to keep the woman he loves from being struck down before she dares uncover the truth.

Be sure to pick up Pamela Clare’s romantic action thriller STRIKING DISTANCE today! On sale wherever books are sold.

Just finished “Striking Distance”. It is all over awesome. You couldn’t ask for a better sponsor blurb.

  2. Jo says:

    Hi Sarah

FYI – The podcasts haven’t been downloading automatically into iTunes lately (for me anyway).  It might be because the date is showing 1/1/2001

    Keep up the good work.

  3. Faellie says:

Literally “smelt of fish”?  Wow.  That would take all Georgette Heyer’s metaphorically “smelt of the shop” to a whole new level.

Faro’s Daughter by Georgette Heyer had Lady Bellingham and Deb Grantham running a gaming operation for money, and Georgette Heyer was famous for her research, so a woman running a Regency casino may not be so subversive.
