I can’t believe you didn’t mention Shannon Stacey when you were discussing funny books. I know humor is subjective, but I think most agree the Kowalski books do fit the description.
I also think Meg Banjamin Konigsburg series has a lot of humor, but they do have suspense as well (or are at least are supposed to, that element doesn’t always work as well as the humor does for me).
Marcia Evanick’s Misty Harbor books fall into the light-hearted/humorous category as well.
And Rainbow Rowell’s Attachments has a lot of humor.
Funny romances = Georgette Heyer.
I think the Neighbor from Hell series from R.L. Mathewson are also very funny, and I second Shannon Stacey.
Thinking of funny romances – Susan Donovan, her contemps were hot and funny. Victoria Dahl’s books, particularly the Tumble Creek series. Ruthie Knox’s loveswept e-books are pretty funny. So hard to think of historicals…Cecilia Grant’s first historical had some funny moments…
Finally had a chance to listen this. I have another suggestion for the question about a mainstream romance with a gay best friend who gets a sequel with a (m/m or f/f) romance and hea. Meljean Brook is *going* to have one in the Iron Seas series – for Scarsdale, the gay friend from The Iron Duke and Heart of Steel.

Darn paper TBR pile! My list of books says I have that Mayberry but I can’t find it anywhere. Also, The Iron Duke has completely disappeared. Definitely a drawback to paper books!
