102. An Interview with Renee Raudman, Audiobook Narrator, Part II

In part II of Sarah's interview with Renee Raudman, they talk about how Renee handles reviews, and how she manages varying feedback on her performances. We discuss male narrators of romance fiction, and the intimacy and connection readers sometimes feel with the voices and people who perform beloved stories.

Here are the books we discuss in this podcast (please note, many are audiobooks):

Tangled audiobook Clean Sweep serial audiobook

Laura Ruby - The wall and the wing the chaos king movie Her

Where All the Dead Lie JT Ellison Audiobook Tatterhood and other Tales, edited by Ethel Johnson Phelps At the Sign of the Sugared Plum by Mary Hooper

Catherine, Called Birdy The Midwife's Apprentice The Space Ship Under the Apple Tree

Last Hour of Gann - R Lee Smith Princess Diaries My Friend Flicka

the Phantom Stallion Book Thoroughbred Series - A Horse Called Wonder

And I mentioned Forvo.com, where you can hear people pronouncing different words from around the world. IT'S SO COOL.

Book Flight From Hell This podcast is brought to you by InterMix, publisher of Flight from Hell—the brand-new Otherworld novella from New York Times bestselling author Yasmine Galenorn.

When the half-demon Carter approaches Menolly and her sisters desperately asking for their help, they think he's just had a tiff with Shimmer, his blue dragon girlfriend.

But after talking to Alex Radcliffe, the owner of the Fly By Night Magical Investigations Agency where Shimmer works, they suspect that she has been kidnapped by an old enemy of Alex's.

Now, Alex must join forces with the D'Artigo sisters in a desperate race to find Shimmer before Julian, a powerful vampire from Alex's past with a grudge to settle, can use the dragon to wreak havoc on Seattle as revenge.

You can find Flight from Hell where ebooks are sold.

  1. ReneeG says:

Could you tell me what the podcast is for the Last Hour of Gann?  I loved the book, but spent so much time crying.  And thinking about being the last human on Gann.

  2. ReneeG says:

REalized that I was spelling my search incorrectly – found it (Podcast #77).

Also wanted to say that I don’t really listen to podcasts, but I haven’t missed your recent ones and I’m starting on your backlist.  Thanks!

  3. TheoLibrarian says:

Catherine Called Birdy!  I loved that book so much! Though, I found the use of the word “piss” absolutely scandalous as an elementary schooler.

  4. Melissa says:

For some reason I can only see the book links for about a split second and then all but one vanishes. Since I’m the only one complaining I’m going to guess it’s some setting of my own that’s changed and not a problem with the real links. If there’s anybody out there who can clue me in on how to fix it I’d be grateful.

  5. Sarita says:

Eeeeee! You read my email! So excited 😀
Ahem. Right. Adult again. Catherine Called Birdie is excellent, and I must have read through The Song of The Lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce like five times around about 6th or 7th grade.
