Timber!

Barney’s Department Store in New York has apparently called on Candy to serve as their muse for their current window display. Usually they feature ambigulously gendered plastic people modeling billion dollar dresses in funky poses.

This week: the mannequins are being crushed by falling stacks of paperback romance novels.

I walked by and thought, “Hey! That’s my TBR pile! And look! There’s Candy’s!” Good to know the high-end department stores in Manhattan can relate to the Smart Bitches and their reading habits (though not our style of clothing).

Nice product placement for the authors.  I can only see Susan Johnson’s Sinful there.

    :bug:

so… reading too many trashy novels blanks out your face and turns you hands into smooth-pointed sticks?

    Egad!

It’s good to know that Barney’s window designers enjoy trashy romance as much as the rest of us - all of those novels look well read!

Sweet display! If there was a Barney’s here I’d shop at it.

*sigh*  I wish my novels were crushing a mannequin.  I feel so left out.

Maybe the window designer just needed somewhere to store her TBR pile

That’s a “high-end” department store?  Yikes.  I’d rather go to Practical Cents, where I can get a bag of clothes for $6.00 every Thursday and a bag of books for $2.00 (hardcover and/or paperback) every other week.

Come one, come all!  Harlequins, ancient to recent, are often .10 a piece—even less if you know how to stuff a bag….

Love that!  Thanks for sharing.  I’m going to try to do a walk by on that… but not go in because one Barney’s frock and I’ll be in the poor house.
