The Unintentional Comedy Factor Measurement: 10

by SB Sarah | November 20, 2007 | Tuesday at 10:17 pm | 19 Comments

Bitchery reader Kelly sent me a scan of a Tictac ad from this month’s Entertainment Weekly. And oh, the unintentional comedy, it is firming my abs as I laugh.

Take a look at the ad itself. Clinches aren’t just for romance novels or newspaper articles about abuse legislation. Oh no, the clinch, it is for your fresh fruity breath!

My favorite part? Besides the idea of “cherry passion,” which could easily be a romance title in and of itself - the juxtaposition of that man and that ad copy. Mixed fruit experience, indeed!

My abs, they thank you, Mr. or Ms. TicTac Ad Copy Writer.

Cherry Passion sounds like a name for an adult film star.  Or is that too obvious?

Mixed Fruit TicTacs: great refreshment after your next m/m/f encounter.

    >>next m/m/f<<

Cathy beat me to it.  I was thinking this was another EC special.

My mouth really doesn’t care to be entertained by breath mints.  Just sayin’.

I’m with Ms. Bruce - very bad flashbacks indeed!
And Tic-tacs=sexy? I’d like to know who thought up this ad. Perhaps we need to recomend some reading ladies???? ;-)

(single46- oh, no I’m not either!)

I’m especially fond of how their outfits match the label of the tictac box.

He really should get his hand off her crotch.

He really should get a pair of pants.

What I want to know is what the cherry is “mixed” with.  Because my mind is pairing it with banana (it’s a mental image that now I can’t get out) and that is *so* a combination I don’t want in my mouth!

Oh, crud.  Now my mind is going even more places thanks to these comments and that picture and phrase…I think I need brain bleach…

Are those historical Tic Tacs?  I’m not chomping down anything with a sell-by date that old!

And if they ain’t historical Tic Tacs, then that dude is totally gay in those togs and the gal hasn’t figured it out yet.

    Talk about mixed fruit.

Can you give us a hard link to the ad? I’m trying to send it to a friend. My google-fu is not finding what you’re referencing. Or did you scan it in?

    Cherry breath candies… sigh… memories…

When I was around 15 I was at the local Dairy Queen eating a sundae after a track meet.  The cherry was always last for me.  In searching for it among the remains of goop I loudly proclaimed “Ack, I lost my cherry!”

Could have heard a pin drop.  Oh, every guy there was thinking it, but my brothers were there, too.  All over six feet and wearing their best “don’t even fucking think it” faces.

    Good times… good times…

Entertainment for the mouth… and then a romantic novelesque couple.

    Right-o. :D

I’m pretty sure that’s not unintentional humpr.  I’m pretty sure they meant it to be funny and as a joke.  Looks pretty obvious to me.

*sigh*  Humor.  freudian slip for the win.
