Awesome! “Sister Taylor’s” is a marvel—seems like it could have been random, but fits together really well, and there’s something so deliciously naughty about those polastic dolls, mmm—and while the “Stirring Up Waves” is funny, the lower corner work where the blue river rocks surround the b&w image of the two guys being very hot together is really good!

I kinda want to read about Poseidon’s Chosen and his sexy vegan chef.

    Congrats to the winners! :-)

Great winners!  I hope this is the start of something big for the artists.

I didn’t remember vote, but I’m glad that “Sister Taylor” won.  The dolls are priceless.

Now I know what to do with all those playmobile people!

Congratulations to the winners and all the entrants. Those were excellent and creative covers. Now, where are the books to go with them?

Something about those rocks and veggies is just wrong wrong wrong.

Amazing in how brilliantly wrong it is.

Is Sister Taylor’s bearskin rug chocolate or just brown plastic?

  9. Laurel said on 09.26.07 at 05:17 AM • [comment link]

The bear rug is a plastic one that came with a Playmobil Viking set. Why do Vikings come with bear skins? I don’t know, but I bet I could come up with some ideas.

(Yes, I’m the nutball who made that cover. I… I take lots of naughty pictures of Playmobil. I usually say that I’m a Playmobil “collector” because that’s a little less weird than admitting that I’m in my twenties and still play with little plastic toys. Perhaps unfortunately for the internet, my totally rad Playmobil nativity set was buried too deep in the closet to have been used for this!)

    Playmobile has a Nativity Set!!!

    Oh, I so want that!

Yeah, the Nativity Set was my early Christmas present to myself last year, and it is every bit as awesome as you could ever hope for. It comes with a camel! Oh, the naughty!

I found out last week that Playmobil now makes Romans. OMG ROMANS.

Yeah they have a whole Coliseum.

All they need is a Playmobile crucifixion set for Easter.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who voted for the Stirring Up Waves cover (aka the amazing phallic fruits and veggies cover). I had lots of fun working on that, even though I got sprouts and banana slime all over my scanner!

Someone earlier mentioned the B/W photo of the men. That’s taken from a collection of free wallpaper called manpaper.com. They have tons of gay mantitty, from the goofy to the tres dramatique.
