As per my bet with Jane, here are my sonnets to commemorate the Steelers’ loss to the Packers in the SuperBowl. I was only supposed to write one, but I wrote two, one about the Packers and one about the Steelers. Only recently has the NFL and all surrounding merchandise caught on that women like football, and not just for the commercials or the recipes. There are actual football-fluent women out there. I know many of them. We’re kinda awesome. Personally, I am bound by the Law of Geography as a Steeler fan - I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. For gosh sake’s, we have our own team polka (We’re from the town with the Great Football Team—we cheer them Pittsburgh Steelers!) Ask to hear my Pixburg accent. It’s glorious. A few people emailed me to ask why I was going on such a short cruise, and it was super short. I hadn’t heard of a cruise this brief- we left Thursday at 5pm and docked and disembarked by 9am on Saturday. Really, it was brief. I felt like I’d unpacked and repacked in less than 24 hours – probably because, now that I think about it, I had. One thing that wasn’t brief? My wardrobe. I’d packed for Florida.
