Time again for the SBTB and DA bestsellers list, better known as the List With No Official Name. It’s based on our affiliate sales records, it’s fun to examine week to week, and it clearly shifts based on what’s on sale, what we’re talking about, and what you’re interested in reading. Many thanks to Jane for the nook, Kobo, and Sony shortcut code. Hope what you’re reading is awesome! Unlocked by Courtney Milan (nook), (sony), (Kobo) Yours To Keep by Shannon Stacey (nook), (sony), (Kobo) Grand Sophy by Georgette Heyer (nook), (sony), (Kobo) Soldier by Grace Burrowes (nook), (sony), (Kobo)…

You tweeted, you emailed, you tweeted some more, and some of you won copies of the book - and you helped us spread the word. Really, that’s what this campaign is about: helping us promote a contemporary romance we thought was truly, truly awesome. Thank you for helping us out with that goal. And now, we have a winner! One person who tweeted, emailed, or helped us promote the Save the Contemporary webpage will win her choice of a nook Touch, a Kobo Touch, or a Kindle with Special Offers (I call it the “Friends with benefits Kindle”) - and…

Time for the June Sizzling Book Club Pick - and if you’ve been paying attention this one isn’t much of a surprise. Heh. This month’s pick is the third book in Shannon Stacey’s Kowalski series: Yours to Keep.It is an outstanding contemporary romance, and I hope you like it. Here’s the synopsis: Sean Kowalski no sooner leaves the army than he’s recruited by Emma Shaw to be her fake fiancé. Emma needs to produce a husband-to-be for her grandmother’s upcoming visit, and, though Sean doesn’t like the deception, he could use the landscaping job Emma’s offering while he decides what…

It’s been awhile, but our multi-blog campaign to Save the Contemporary is back. If you’re not familiar with it, don’t worry - it has been a very long time since we’ve run one. If a contemporary romance makes both Jane and myself squee like squeeing has never been squeed before, it’s time to pimp the ever lovin’ holy moses out of a book. This time it’s Yours to Keep by Shannon Stacey. We ask for help spreading the word about a contemporary romance that rocked our worlds, and we award prizes during a week of pimping mayhem. Jane said over…

Rather than do a recap of 2010, which would probably break my brain because I’ve done a lot of high-impact computer work this week (no, really, not even kidding) and because I can’t remember what I was wearing yesterday, let alone remember what I was reading eight months ago, I wanted to look back on the authors I discovered this year that rocked my world. These aren’t debut authors, not all of them, anyway. I don’t actually think being a debut author causes any more of a ripple in my consciousness than any other author or book that catches my…

Three readers, one week: today and tomorrow I’ll be featuring reviews of the new Sony Touch, the Kindle 3, and the Nook - the latter by guest reviewer Shannon Stacey. I personally didn’t like the Nook. It was bottom heavy. It’s interface was clunky, poorly responsive, and the LCD at the bottom was hugely annoying.I got the fail flower all the time. I didn’t think it was comfortable. I liked the Kindle better. But that’s my opinion and I know many, many people who adore their Nooks (HOLY GOATS WHO CAME UP WITH THAT NAME?!) (I promise that’s the last…

I had such a good old time reading this book. There were some flaws to the plot but while reading it, I was charmed and giggly and totally absorbed. This book made me happy. That’s probably the best way to put it: it made me smile. A lot. Books like this are why I read romance. Keri Daniels is an entertainment reporter in LA who left her hometown in New Hampshire a long, long time ago, breaking it off with her high school sweetheart Joe right after graduation and heading as far west as she could. She’s been back before,…

Motoko Rich, who is second to Hillel Italie on my list of Reporters of Whom I am a Quietly Squeeing Fangirl, wrote an article for The New York Times that examined the use of iPhones and iPod Touch devices as reading tools. The article was titledLibrary in a Pocket , and quoted me talking about my use of both the iPhone and the Kindle during my commute: Indeed, Sarah Wendell, an administrative assistant in Manhattan who blogs about romance novels, said that although she used the iPhone to read while on a coffee or lunch break, she still used her…
