I love the internet. There’s always something going on. First: I’m over at Kirkus talking about the impetus for the giveaway this week. Or, in other language, why I am often at a loss when talking about my own book but am very eager to talk about everyone else’s! I love talking about other people’s books. I can tell you 56 reasons why Jill Shalvis’ upcoming book Head Over Heels (Grand Central, November 2011) worked for me. I can explain in staggering detail why I adore the novels of Sarah Morgan and think everyone should try one—if only to interrupt…

It's not a secret that I really like Sarah Morgan's books, and her latest is no exception to the happy sigh reading experience. Polly Prince works at the ad agency her father owns, but in reality, she runs the place because he tends to disappear for long periods of time, usually with a new girlfriend who is Polly's age. This time, dear old dad has run off with Damon Doukakis's sister, who used to be Polly's best friend at school, and both of them are unreachable. Damon is so pissed off, he does what any good Harlequin Presents hero does:…

Back in 2009, Jane Litte and I did a few podcasts about romance novels. We’re BACK. And the audio is NOT AS GOOD. My apologies for that. But we’re back, and we’re talking about what we’re reading, and which Harlequin Presents we both enjoy. Plus, we discuss at length a historical romance that’s coming out in December that we both adored and cannot wait to share with readers. You can subscribe to our feed at Feedburner or at iTunes. Mp3 is available for download as well. PLEASE for the love of God right click and save, k? Esosoft and I…

I don’t usually read Christmas stories, particularly during the summer. But while I traveled from New Orleans to New York and then to Vancouver in three weeks’ time, I did a lot of reading. I mentioned over at Kirkus that I’d been on a happy Sarah Morgan glom after reading A Night of Scandal, and enjoying it so much I picked it for the July Book Club. This book was my favorite of the ones I read, particularly because of the heroine. This is the official description: “His housekeeper, or his Christmas present? Unexpectedly homeless for the festive season, and…

Join us at 8pm Eastern time on 26 July for the Sizzling Book Club chat to discuss Sarah Morgan’s A Night of Scandal. We’ll discuss Harlequin Presents, alpha heroes, Morgan’s twist on some very familiar tropes, and where she hid a sheikh reference in this book. Sarah Morgan will join us at 9pm Eastern - better known as 2am in the UK, good heavens. This series was just released in the US after being out since March in the UK, and she’s very interested in chatting with US readers. She insisted on a late-hour chat for her so she could…

I was pondering some of the books I’ve read recently, and wondered about something: do you notice if there are source materials or reference books mentioned in the back of your romance novels, in what I believe is called the “end matter?” Sometimes, I’ve seen author’s notes about books that rocked the author’s world during writing, or additional sources for more information about real people who appeared as characters in novels, and I always find that to be very cool. I have looked those books up online and peeked at them. But I wondered if there were readers who didn’t…

It's summer, officially! Time for… well, pretty much the same amount of reading I always did. But I do love fun and somewhat sudsy reading in the summer, and I really enjoyed this book. This month's pick is a Harlequin Presents, A Night of Scandal by Sarah Morgan. Here's the synopsis: Nathaniel…Icon. Celebrity. Heartthrob. But underneath his movie-star good looks, he's battling with the demons of his past. No one knows the real Nathaniel, they only see the pinup, the illusion he pretends to be. Then one night he is forced to rely on Katie Field, an ordinary young woman…

Lately I’ve been using the Kobo app on the iPad to read, and I found myself turning to the iPad in the evening more often than the Kindle. I’ve been on a reading tear, not only because of the RITA Reader Reviews, which have damaged the schedule of my TBR list like whoa and moly, but because I’m super busy during the day and in the evening am ready to read and disappear into someone else’s story for awhile. The Kobo app is interesting to me because of the way it tracks what I do, and shares stats with me…

Linsalot selected this book for the RITA® Reader Challenge, and she really liked everything about it. Plot Summary! Nurse Jenna Richards did not come all the way to Glenmore to fall head-over-heels for the first sexy doctor she saw. But what’s a single mum to do when devastatingly dreamy Dr Ryan McKinley has his eye on you, and the entire island community is mischievously matchmaking…? And now, Linsalot’s review: I generally don’t choose books based on titles alone and I don’t read a lot of medical romance any more but I chose Dare She Date the Dreamy Doc? based purely…
