Awhile back, I was contacted by Beth, a library science student, about doing a school project. She needed to create an annotated bibliography, and wanted to know if I'd like to be her "client" for the project: "I am taking a course called Search and Discovery, which is a fancy name for using and evaluating online research tools and databases. Data and deals, we have! First: Rainbow Romance Writers are doing a survey of romance readers and asked me to pass along the link to you. I enquired what the survey data was going to used for, and they told me, "we're mostly just gathering intel. With the DoJ settlement for some publishing houses, the prices for ebooks will slip and slide in different directions, but for now, there's a big ol' sale on a huge portion of Johanna Lindsey's backlist, and Karina Cooper's books as well, plus a handful of historical and romantic suspense novels.

I took a lot of notes at the RT sessions I was part of - and this might be the most I've written by hand in a long, long time. I admit, I have a low tolerance for amnesia stories. I don't often enjoy them, I can't suspend my disbelief when the person with amnesia conveniently remembers some things, like the names of her household servants, but doesn't remember other things, like who she is. And I always wonder where the other physical symptoms are, like questionable bladder control or possible drooling. So when this book was recommended to me, I read it with some trepidation.
