Smart Bitch Book Club Gathering Location!

July 30, 2010 | Friday | 6 Comments

We’ll be meeting Saturday, 31 July, at 3:30 pm at Il Mulino, the bar to the left as you walk into the Swan hotel (Across from the Dolphin). I know I said 3pm originally but the Il Mulino doesn’t open until 330. I will be there a bit before hand so I can make sure to snag some sofas or chairs, and we can get our drink on. Woo hoo! I have prizes to give away, there’s a bar (in case you missed that part), and Sherry Thomas is going to stop by - as will the author of our… read more »

The 2010 Literacy Signing…Music Video

July 29, 2010 | Thursday | 63 Comments

Last night I wandered the 2010 Literacy Signing making a music video. With Ke$ha. Not actually with me but playing on endless loop in my head. It is only fair I share the ear worm with you, right? Thank you to all the authors who let me film them (I’m sorry I could not use all my footage, as some of it was really wonky when I imported it) and who wrote all the lovely books I buy by the truckload every year. And congrats to everyone for raising over $62,000.00 in one night to fight illiteracy. That RULES. (My… read more »

Events & Introductory Help, Please?

July 21, 2010 | Wednesday | 19 Comments

Tomorrow, if ye be in Brooklyn or parts nearby, avast, for I will be part of a splendiferous panel on romance at one of the best independent bookstores in North America, WORD Brooklyn. Along with New York Times bestselling authors Sara McLean, Lauren Willig, Hope Tarr and I will be doing one of those fun panel discussions all about romance, why it’s awesome, and what all you might like to read. I hear rumors of a booksigning afterward. The event was in the New York Times last weekend, which gave me a major OMGWHUT? moment, so I hope that if… read more »

Sizzling Summer Book Club Selection: His at Night by Sherry Thomas

July 19, 2010 | Monday | 41 Comments

The next book! The next chat! A live in-person drink-a-fiesta at RWA! A whole lot of summer reading! Clearly I need to cut back on the caffeine today. If you’re just joining us (Hi there!) it’s time for the third pick of the Sizzling Summer Book Club where I pick a book, you think, “ORLY?” and I say, “YES RLY” and then we all read it and meet up online to talk about it. Prior selections were Tessa Dare’s One Dance With a Duke (I have it on good authority that the dance was in fact “Pumping Up my Bicycle”… read more »

But Wait, There’s More Conferences!

April 22, 2009 | Wednesday | 14 Comments

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned the epic clusterfuck of travel I have going on this week, but in case you’re curious, here we go. Presently I’m at Romantic Times in Orlando, where today I’m on a panel about historical romance with Jane. Then, this afternoon I’m on a panel about social networking and new media with Ron Hogan. That will be so difficult, since there’s really nothing about Twitter or the growing power of using a social network to reach consumers (*koff koff Dominos *koff koff Amazon) that we can talk about in terms of author promotion. Then tomorrow… read more »
