I’m working on a a project for RWA this year to help everyone navigate their way to interesting places in NYC. But I need your help: what landmarks, museums, places of interest, stores, and different locations are MUST-SEE spots in Manhattan? Tell me tell me, so I can plot them out. Mwaaaahahahah, plotting. It’s time for more Holiday Gift Ideas for all that shopping that, judging from the mall decorations, needs to be done right hopping now! First: a note. Somehow, I must have given the impression that I dislike Christmas in my last Gift Guide entry - which, OOPS. So not the case! So it looks like the RWA National Convention won’t be in Nashville. Folks have been informed that their reservations at the Gaylord Opryland have been cancelled, and RWA National is working on potential new locations - so don’t be calling the travel agent or anyone else for that matter. We’ll hear eventually. While I totally understand that it’s impossible to hold a convention in a flood-ravaged city, I had hoped to spend a few bar-drenched dollars in Nashville to help the city recover. Coming to New York any time soon? Head on down to the Morgan Library at 225 Madison Avenue for an entire exhibit devoted to Jane Austen, including her letters, illustrated early volumes of her books, and an original manuscript. The exhibition concludes with a documentary film, The Divine Jane, which features interviews with authors and critics about Austen’s impact on fiction—and is available online for viewing, though I’m not sure if it’s US-only.
