Lisa Kleypas' Rainshadow Road comes out in February, and her publisher has offered 10 finished copies to give away. Whoo! And not only do we have books to give away, but Lisa Kleypas was kind enough to answer several inane questions from me via email. Hooray - bonus interview! Rainshadow Road has magical realism while Friday Harbor did not. Why add it to this novel? Did you plan to go this way all along with the series? Part 1 of the Books What I Read While On Summer Vacation can be found here. Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas (Historical Romance - European), St. Martin’s 2007 Grade: B I went on quite the Lisa Kleypas roll this summer, and immersed myself, yea verily, in her ocean of fluffy romance goodness. Y’all, I managed to get more leisure reading done in the past three months than I have in the past two years combined. It’s amazing what being stuck on a plane or a bus will do to one’s reading time, not to mention the one month I spent laid up in bed from a one-two whammy of a really nasty summer flu, followed by strep throat. We’re starting a new pile of awesome, and I have to say, Jane is the WordPress mastermind. We’ve created a new site just for the Save the Contemporary campaign. Reading Smooth Talking Stranger made me appreciate even more Lisa Kleypas’ skill and talent in writing romances that feature familiar themes with memorable, unique characters. It was a funny and enjoyably friendly and utterly sudsy fantasy. And it looked without blinking at painful realities that women deal with, from new motherhood to surviving abusive parents to figuring out who you really are.
